Magnificent view of the falls from every 'fall-side' room and from reception area and the outdoor bar/cafe. This is the only available hotel with this vista. Close to all walkways and services of the Igauzu National Park. For photographers, butterflies and birds abound just out on the bushline in front of the hotel by the swimming pool. A magical experience.

Room Tip: Fall side view rooms are obviously more expensive, but hey, how often in a lifetime do you stay at a...

The Sheraton Iguazu is a hotel perfectly located near the Iguazu waterfalls. This implies that you are able to walk the national park already from 8 Am until 5 PM. This gives you an advantage on the visitors staying outside the park (they only can be there from 8.30 - 16.30)
The hotel itself has spectacular views. The staff is very friendly.

While this hotel is not going to be he best you have ever stayed in, it is all about its incredible and unique location: the only hotel right inside the national park, enabling one to walk across the lawn and straight onto one of the Falls' scenic trails.
The hotel is therefore not close at all to town (Puerto Iguazu) which one could totally miss anyway (but there is a bus, very conveniently located close by which one could catch every 20 minutes for 10 Argentine Pesos (at the time we visited) if one wants to check it out. The ride takes about half an hour or a little more).
The hotel's location means you will take your breakfasts and dinners on site for lack of other options. The breakfast buffet is very good (which is unusually surprising in Argentina and a great positive point in our opinion). The dinners we had were very good. Not cheap, but that is a uniquely located 5* hotel, and to be expected (It is not outrageous at all by Argentine standards, though). One can choose between a buffet dinner and a-la-carte.
The service is very competent. The staff speaks good English and are very helpful.
If you are celebrating a special occasion - let them know and they will do their utmost to make it memorable (they did this superbly for us!)
The hotel's design is not spectacular, and I found the tiled floors very clinical and uninteresting both in the public areas and in the rooms. But this design detail pales in comparison to the rest of the experience.
There are a few shops for curios and necessary elements both inside the hotel building and in a small arcade just below the main entrance yard.
Don't miss a trip to the Brazilian side, a boat ride under the falls and the train ride and walk over to the Devil's Throat.

Room Tip: We opted for Falls view - costs more but affords you the great luxury of looking at the Falls at all...

Being SPG Platinum, this was a no brainer as the hotel is inside the park. The views and setting are just magnificent. Iguazu is a must. The hotel itself felt old, dated, and not very well maintained. The service was hit and miss. The food was good, not great. This is an instance where maybe Sheraton feels it has no competition so they do not spend the resources necessary to have a truly amazing hotel. Would have been 5 stars if the hotel was in better shape. That being said, the location, being inside the park, and views make it the only option at the falls

I stayed in this beautiful property at the beginning of october and I think it is a dream. Actually the location is a dream, the only place where you could live with the Iguazu falls right in front of you, enjoying them from your window, what a dream. The rooms are well designed and well kept, I had a suite on the top floor and it was spotlessy clean. Breakfast is good, service is good and reception is outstanding. The property is located inside the Iguazu park so there is no need of taking any transportations to visit the falls, just go out of your room and walk. It is convenient to stroll all over and come back to the room for a little rest and then to the falls again. For dinner we took a local bus to Iguazu town, nice and cozy. The best restaurant we tried is El Quincho del Tio querido, excellent beef and excellent show of real virtuoso guitar players and singers

Room Tip: Stay on top floor to see the Garganta del diablo

I just spent 2 very happy days at Sheraton Iguazu, and I would happily recommend this hotel. Let's start with the location. It is the only hotel inside the Iguazu National Park in Argentina, and it gives not only great views of the Falls (we had a 3rd floor Falls view room), but it gives you immediate access to numerous walking trails around the Falls.

As for the rooms themselves, certainly, as some reviewers have already commented, they are a bit dated, but we found them comfortable and quite spacious. I was traveling with a friend, so we had booked a standard twin share Falls view room, but because I'm an SPG Gold member, we were offered an upgrade on checkin. We had the choice of a 1st floor junior suite with Falls view, or the refurbished 3rd floor room we opted for. The staff were extremely helpful at checkin (at the very early hour of 9;00am, by the way), and even took us to see the rooms before decided. In the end we went for the 3rd floor room because it had 2 large beds, whereas the suite had just one king bed. They offered to put another bed in the room, but that would have meant one of us sleeping in a rollaway.

Of course, you are a captive audience when you stay at this hotel, but they have a couple of nice bars, and the restaurant is quite nice. A buffet breakfast is included in the room tariff, and the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. The restaurant staff are extremely attentive, and very friendly. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the porters spoke very good English, so it was very comforting for us as we don't speak Spanish.

The hotel also has a couple of tour desks. The first thing we did after we settled into our room was visit one of them to find out what was available. The man on the desk was very helpful, and clearly explained about the various walking trails that were freely available. He also explained about the various paid tours. On the first day we did the 3 walking trails on the Argentinian side, including the train ride that gives you walking access to Devil's Throat. On the second day we had a car and driver from the hotel take us to Brazil where did a helicopter flight over the Falls, and then did the bus and walking tour through the park in Brazil. Both days were brilliant, and offer very different perspectives of the Falls.

OK, not everything was perfect at this hotel. For a start, it's not cheap, but it is a great place to be if you want immediate access to the Falls. Also, the water system is not great. We found that most of the time the water in the shower was not hot enough, and the water pressure was not great. But they are presumably working at improving that because the water supply was turned off for 6 hours both nights we were there. The electricity supply is also a bit unstable and sections of the hotel, including our room, lost power a few times.

I would happily go back to this hotel, and probably stay a bit longer next time. I didn't get to lounge around the pool or use the day spa. And I was just blown away by the view.

Room Tip: My personal preference, get a Falls view room.
