“Exceed expectation at Bohemia Hotel Boutique”
Reviewed March 4, 2010

I stayed at the Bohemia Hotel Boutique with my family and parents over the Christmas and New Year holidays in December, 2009. We chose Bohemia Hotel Boutique by reading the customers comments on Trip Advisors. We were very happy with our decision. It was a very nice hotel. It had comfortable beds and bedding and the room and bathroom were very clean. The front desk was very friendly, helpful and extremely efficient. Emir, the manager and travel coordinator provided excellent service. We enjoyed our visit very much and would definitely stay there again.

After an extended vacation in Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia, we decided to splurge a bit in Mendoza and stay at a nicer hotel. After hearing everyone complain about how expensive hotels and restaurants in Patagonia are compared to the rest of Argentina, we were sure that a splurge in Mendoza would be worth it.

The hotel was quite a disappointment. The pool was tiny and surrounded by high walls that blocked out the sun, the "poolside bar" didn't exist (nor did the advertised restaurant), and the breakfasts were probably the worst we had on our entire trip. (There's really no excuse for stale wonderbread when your guests are paying over $100 per night!) The room we had was nicely decorated and large, but we expected the high price tag would get us nice amenities--and the Bohemia actually had fewer amenities than most hostels we stayed at elsewhere. Not worth the price.

Bohemia Boutique hotel gets top marks because of its staff, in particular Melissa who made my 4 night stay with them a delight, she speaks excellent English and was able to help me with my questions as well as make suggestions on what to do & where to eat. The hotel only has 8 rooms & I was in room 8 which featured a double bed with seperate en suite shower. The only negative thing I can say about this room is that if the door to the patio is closed at night this cannot be opened from room 8 side as the handle is missing, i raised this with the hotel as it would present a dangerous risk in the event of an emergency.
Unfortunately the chef was away when I stayed so I cannot comment on the evening service in the restaurant, breakfast was plentiful.

Oveall this is a reasonbly priced hotel in a good location with exceptional staff.

This hotel offers above average service and help for all of your needs/requests. They really go the extra mile. Included breakfasts ar OK and they will make omlets etc on request. Our room (#3) did not have a great bathroom but all in all we were satisfied. Not a big fancy place with a lot of services (and cost) tht you don't need but well located and an easy 10 minute walk to the main shopping and restaurant areas

The location was very good, in a residential area but walking distance to restaurants and nightlife along the strip. The room was small and a bit unique in it's layout, not your typical hotel room which was refreshing, and I guess qualifies it for "boutique" status. Staff was very helpful, we felt well taken care of. The main door was kept locked, which makes it feel secure. Yes, the towels were scratchy, but the bed linens were very good quality, and the bed was comfortable. We did not come for the pool, and it was not in "working order" when we visited. Hopefully this will be corrected. I'd recommend this hotel as it does have its good points, but also note that we will continue to explore other options in Mendoza to find the "perfect" place in terms of location and price.

Within easy walking distance of the sights of Mendoza, this hotel is an excellent place to stay. The staff, particularly Melissa and Walter, work hard to make your stay pleasant and provide info on how to get around the city. The room/bathroom was good, bed comfortable and AC works well. Breakfast was OK. There is no elevator and stairs are required for most rooms. There is some noise from the street, so get a room to the rear if quiet is preferred. I would stay there again.

We were expecting something completely different from Bohemia and moved to another establishment (with their help).

The room resembled the web pictures, but was significantly smaller than we expected and laid out rather strangely. We expected an updated bathroom with modern amenities, which we did not find. It was clean, but suffered from dated fixtures and plumbing. We knew that the hotel was located in a residential area, we did not expect the level of noise that penetrated into the room. The safe (a big deal for international travelers with valuables, ID & technology) was not secured and could easily be removed from the room. One last note: the bed cover was clearly stained and hadn't been washed in a while...that's the problem with light-colored bed linen, it really shows when they're not clean.

All that being said, the hotel owner/manager was quite nice and demonstrated flexibility in helping us get a room in another hotel (charging us for a one-night stay though). I know of other hoteliers that would not be that accommodating. That stands for something, I think.

In summary, do your research and know exactly what you're getting before you book here. There's no doubt in mind that this would work for more "easy-going" travelers who would find this place a good fit.
