We had a comfortable room with air and tv. I just wanted a room to sleep and got up very early to enjoy the nature. I really cannot complain about our stay - no noise issue or anything. The staff was nice and spoke English well. We booked the following tours through the hotel: Villa Vicencio, Wine and Olive Oil tour and Alta Montanha. I highly recommend the tour Alta Montanha - anybody can live Mendoza without experiencing the view from up there. The Villa Vicencio one is nothing special... for us it was still ok since we would not be going back to Mendoza any time soon. The Wine and Olive oil tour were very interesting for us because it was our first time in such places.
Coming back go the hotel review... breakfast is included but this is very basic, but we always found some good cake and the coffee was very good. Therefore, this is a hotel for those in a tight budget and do not mind staying a few days with many luxuries.

I am just finishing my trip to Mendoza. I stayed two nights at the Cordon del Plata. The good about this hotel is that it is in a great location. It is near everything including shopping, the plaza and anything else you would need. The second nice thing about this hotel is the staff. They are very nice and genuine. They dont speak much English but that is the case with most people in Mendoza. I checked in early at 9 am on Friday. My room wasnt ready but the staff went out of their way to clean it and get it ready for me within 30 minutes. They have two internet computers in the loby to use for free. That is a nice extra. They also have a pretty good breakfast. It is South American style with mostly bread, pastries and cheese but is plenty to start your day.

On the down side, the hotel has very small and basic rooms. It has a nice but small bathroom. The rooms have a king and a single. So for $45 a night, I think its a good value. The rooms are a bit worn as well. In the end, I was so busy enjoying Mendoza, I was only in my room to sleep. The only other thing I didnt like about this hotel is that it is a big tour group hotel. On Friday, there were so many people around it was a bit crazy. Today is better since they dont have tours in town. If you are looking for a romantic hotel this is not it.

Overall, the hotel is a good value especially if you are looking to save money but upgrade from a hostel or other basic hotel.

On another note, when I was in Mendoza, I went to Maipu to go wine tasting. The popular thing to do is to take the public bus group 10 - route either 171,172, or 173 bus to Maipu and rent bikes to see the wineries. (cost is $1.80 pesos. You need exact change) This is a very fun thing that I would recommend to people who want to try something different. Now this isnt for everyone since you drive on the same roads will all the cars and trucks. But overall, its very safe. There are tourist police that ride up and down the wine route to make sure you are safe. They will ride along side you if they think you need help or if traffice is bad to keep you safe.

I rented from MAIPU BIKES. They are new and have brand new mountain bikes. The owners are very nice and we spent an hour after my bike ride talking about their new business venture. They are a step up from the other companies like Mr Hugo and Bikes and Wine due to the quality of their bikes. Many bike rentals are old beach cruiser bikes vs the new and expensive mountain bikes from Maipu Bikes. Maipu Bikes is also the only compay that gives you a helmet to wear. The roads are not in that good of condition so having a good bike ( and a helmet) is very important. To get to Maipu Bikes take the bus and get off past the center. Walk south just past the gas station on the corner ofo Urquiza and Gomez and look to your right down Gomez. They are just off the corner on Gomez. email [--]. The cost is $35 pesos. Each winery costs between $10 and $20 pesos. You can also get their brochure from the tourist info center in Mendoza or Maipu.

We stayed there four 3 nights, the room itself was ok but outside the window on the wall we had our neighbours AC/fan, they enjoyed the air in their room we suffered because of the noise the AC/fan made in our room. I told the staff twice but they didn't care at all, didn't bother go up en check or give us another room. The last night I couldn't stand it any more so I slept on the floor in the bathroom which I also told the staff but he didn't care! The hallway and stairs looks run down. The breakfast was bad just sweet thing.

This hotel is pretty mediocre. Its location is good, and the customer service is fine, but the hotel itself I would not recommend. We reserved a "matrimonial" bed, and what we got was two single beds pushed together. They also resort to a standard marketing-technique for three-star hotels in South America: a very nice, renovated entrance, and a rest-of-the-hotel that is maintained very much on the cheap. The breakfast is also fairly poor, consisting mostly of sweets, some bread and cheese, the standard corn flakes, high-sugar punch, and coffee. If you don't mind shaky quality, then this hotel is fine. But if you're expecting something a little nicer, and the website would indicate that this is what the hotel offers, you will be disappointed.

The hotel is located in 9 de Julio street, corner with Las Heras Ave. This is one of the most important avenues in town. Nearby there are plenty of cafés, restaurants, small shops, and walking distance from the Parque Independencia. The room was very clean, doublesized bed, and a super breakfast included in the room price. The staff was very kind to us, since they let us made our check in at 9 am instead of the regular time of 12:00 pm.
