The tours are full day with private wine tastings and include gourmet winery lunches. Small groups with a maximum of 8 people ensure an authentic, personal Mendoza Wine Experience. Ampora also offers international shipping of boutique and limited edition wines through their wine club, and organizes regular wine and food events in their very own wine lounge.

We chose the Uco Valley tour to get higher and closer to the Mountains. The landscape was pretty well arid with low scrub on gravel and sand. These wineries are rather new in the Mendoza region. The first winery was basically a concrete box, devoid of any style. The wine tasting was good. The second winery was new, no vines surrounding the building but the wine tasting was good with fantastic empanadas served. This is a family run organization and the owner was very interesting to talk with. The third winery was the fanciest and it was spectacular. The 6 course lunch was incredible food pared with excellent wines. Though we enjoyed the tour, we would have preferred an area where there is more vegetation. ( the other Ampora tour?) The guide Alex was extremely knowledgeable about the whole wine industry and about Mendoza wines. There isn't 't a question he couldn't answer. The value for this tour might be considered low. Overall it was a good day! I couldn't quite give the tour a firm 4 star rating.

Having been there many times, I think your description of the first winery is a misrepresentation. I guess tastes vary and to each his own ...
However your main criticism about the tour seems to be that you did not like the fact that the landscape was so arid and with mainly scrub vegetation. Well, Mendoza province is a desert so there is little we can do about that!
I think your overall rating is unjustifiedly harsh.

An outstanding tour with a small group and a very dedicated guide (Alex), speaking perfect english (and russian, and spanish...). A good variation of wineries - all the way from the bigger and more industrial-like ones to the intimate family-run establishments. Also, great staff at the office!
ALL included - no hidden fees or drivers/guides expecting you to tip.
AMAZING lunch in a very scenic winery (dont remember the name).

Booking was easy. office staff were great. loved the taste of Mendoza wine tasting in the lounge. Belem was wonderful and so were the wines (the generous pours were also appreciated).

Went on 2 tours and we enjoyed them both. liked the variety of the wineries visited and wines tasted. Peter and Romi were both excellent guides. lunches were of a high quality, much more than I expected. The info sheets listing the wineries and wines which were handed out at the begining of each tour were very helpful.

Everything was very well organized and executed.

Overall extremely satisfied and a great value.

Thank you so much!

We wanted to do a private tour but were too late to get it organized on time, so we went with Ampora. 100% worth it. We got amazing service at the wineries. We saw a great range of wineries. The price includes all the wine fees + a multi course lunch, so when you comparison shop make sure you compare apples to apples.

Definitely worth it.

Warning though - you may get drunk !! There is a lot of wine. So make sure you check the van for your stuff before leaving ;)

My husband and I used Ampora for our tour to the Uco Valley in Mendoza. We booked them through an exchange of emails and every time they were very quick in response. The company also called our hotel once we were in Mendoza to confirm our pick up time. The tour is usually with a small group of no more than 8 people. It is a big comfy bus/van type vehicle. Our guide was very information and friendly. We toured three bodegas and had a wonderful lunch at the last one. I would highly recommend Ampora. The company and our guide was very professional and pleasant to deal with.
