Even on advertising materials it looks pretty well almost everything what was advertised (or maybe all) was not true. The owner behavior was very strange, your fat son was downright annoying, breakfast was poor, advertised wine for free was really disgusting, etc. In addition to all those mentioned above the landlord took from us 180 USD to give us (four people) ride to the Cordon del Plata (aproximatelly 50+ km far from Mendoza).

Strangest hostel I have stayed at..and I've stayed at a few. Although billed as a family hostel, this is one family I would not want to be a part of. The owner is inappropriately friendly with the female guests, asking one of my friends to sit on his lap. At the same time he has very public arguments with his girlfriend who is 30 years his junior in front of his 2 children. His older son was caught stealing food and doing other un-savoury deals... Aside fromt he allegations of cameras in the shower, which we again heard whilst there, the owner became physically aggressive with a fellow guest over a dispute regarding payment. He also verbally threatened him. Promises of hot water are untrue, rooms are small, cramped and cold. Smoking is allowed inside at all times (even when eating). Location is much further away then described, and on the opposite side of town to all the other hostels. At least a 20 minute walk to the main street.

Overall please do yourself a favour and do not stay here.

Pretty bad hostel. Dirty and loud. Typical rich kids traveling party hostel. But nice and cheap if you don't mind that stuff and need a bed for a night...

We also had a very bad experience with this hostel. It started with our food being taken out of the fridge by his two fat children (they really do eat all day long) and when we told the owner about our food being stolen, he felt really attacked and started to be agressive and blamed everyone in the hostel except his own children.
The next day we checked out and asked for our stuff to be stored in the storage room. It turned out that the storage room was outside and in the afternoon (there was a lot of rain that day) when we returned back to the hostel our backpacks, sleeping bags, tent everything was soaking wet! When we told him about this, he said: yeah it rains sometimes. Arrgh why do you make a storage room outside then?
Anyway, DON¨T stay here if you have other options!

I´d a creepy feeling from the owner (Ariel) from the start and the walls and bed covers were covered in stains! We were booked for 3 nights but had to stay for 1 more night. On day 2 we asked him if he had availability for an extra night-he said that he had but that we would need to vacate the room at 10am on day 3 til 8pm that night (he had rented it out for the day) but that he would give us a discount.Last night he reminded us about leaving at 10am this morning-we asked how much we´d be paying given that we could only use the room from 8pm-at this he turned very nasty, told us that all accom was booked up in Mendoza so we could take the room for the full price or leave, that he could get far more for the room than we were paying him. He was really aggressive and shouted over us everytime we tried to speak. We left this morning-found a nicer place in a better location for the same price. p.s.the free wine is an orange coloured homebrew which the owner himself doesn´t touch! p.p.s. everyone´s food was taken from the fridge-his 2 sons spent the entire time eating! - DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT!

Don't be fooled by Ariel or his son. This place is awful. My two friends and I were lured to the hostel by his son. Long story short, we woke up on our final morning to find that all of our skiing equipment was gone from his "secure luggage storage room." That's three ski bags, six sets of skis, avalanche gear, helmets, goggles, gloves, outer layers and cloths. The place was staged to look like someone had broken in over the wall. When we went to the police they were very helpful, but basically said we were idiots for staying with him - Oh, and they other post about cameras in the shower is true, he is currently under investigation for the incident. Ariel would not refund us. His only response was "This is not America, this is Argentina" an insult to every kind and decent Argentine we met on our journey.
