Stayed here for 2 nights and was very comfortable. We arrived on an early morning bus about 0830am so the rooms were not quite ready but the staff offered us breakfast, coffee and could sit in the lounge room until they were ready. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with your own bathroom, not the flashest of places but still very comfortable - more of a homely feel. It was very quiet at night time and had no dramas with noise. The staff helped us with bookings and organised tours for you plus there is lots of information there to look at. I don't speak Spanish and one of the staff I spoke to couldn't speak english but we still managed to sort things out on google translate. Not too far from the city, an easy 15min walk plus there is a really good restaurant on the corner at the end of the street, really good chicken! They also had a little dog which was awesome :-)

We stayed again 2 weeks in this very quiet but very cozy place just 6 blocks from downtown.
Marianna, the lovely owner, speaks fluently english and is very helpfull and knowledgeable.
She is happy to look for the best recommendations in town and give personal but professional advice , from winetours, mountain tours, the best restaurant in town or even a haircutter.. .
Extra advantage is Marianna's wine knowledge as she studied for sommelier in the capital of wine in Argentina.
Staff is great, helpfull and always very friendly
Breakfast is super, bread, toast, cereals, ham ,cheese, juice, coffee , tea, cookies, fruit...all very fresh and included in the price.
Double rooms are basic but clean and hygienic and do have airco, 24/7 hot water in the bathroom with toilet , all spic and span.
Wi-fi only available in the lobby and TV-room.
I would highly recommend staying at Los Varietales B & B , price versus quality is this a topdeal in the center of Mendoza.
Marianna can be sure, We will stay again in Los Varietales on our next trip to Mendoza

Room Tip: The Chardonnay room is my favorite as beds are just a little bit larger then the others (do i have t...

My partner and I stayed here with my parents who were visiting us in Argentina last October. We found it to be absolutely perfect for a week`s stay in Mendoza, despite the 15 minute walk into the city (which was always very safe, day and night). The rooms were simple, but very comfortable and cute, as were the bathrooms. Our favourite part was the long, open hallway which was so nicely decorated and made for an ideal pre-dinner drinks area (along with the upstairs patio)! The staff couldn`t have been friendlier or more helpful when recommending trips and restaurants, and the breakfasts were lovely.

Comfortable rooms with good breakfast and helpful, friendly staff. Good value but a 15-20 minute stroll from the city centre which I think is validly reflected in the price.

Do note however that there are a lot of rules here including silence between 10pm and 8am so if you don't go to bed early and want to make any noise, have a party or meet anyone else who might want to then this is not the place to come.

We experienced exceptionally high temperatures in Mendoza during our visit (40C) and found the wall-mounted fan in the room insufficient to cool the room so if you are travelling at the height of summer and can afford it, you may want to consider somewhere with a ceiling fan/air-con.

Tacky, grubby. Basic rooms, bathroom poor but plenty hot water. Toilet iffy. Nice hallway with chairs outside rooms so very sociable. Breakfast fine. Staff lovely.
Nice walk into main town but need taxi back at night as did not feel too safe.

We were a bit confused about what to expect prior to arrival due to the mixed reviews, and we heard similar comments from another guest. After staying there we felt that some of the rave reviews raise expectations too high. If you only read the raves, the first impression can be a bit disappointing. However, we were mostly happy with our stay. The beds are indeed foam on something hard but they were surprisingly comfortable. The room was very basic but clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was simple, as appears to be the norm in Argentina. However, this was one of the few guest houses that offered whole wheat bread/toast, cheese, fresh fruit and good coffee. The staff were all lovely, one spoke English well and one who did not speak English quickly resolved that problem by opening a dialogue with us on her computer using Google Translate. It was too bad that some of our fellow guests did sit up drinking wine until the wee hours so we agree noise can be an issue if others are not considerate. Overall, we would recommend this place as a decent budget accommodation.

You go to Mendoza for wine. The wine is great. This hotel is a little out of town (10 minutes walk) but if you're after somewhere to store your bags whilst you're out all day at the local vineyards, and a decent place to rest at the end of the day then it's great.

The rooms are simple. The breakfast is adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful - they helped us organise a day-trip to a local spa resort with little fuss.

I'd definitely go back. I can feel the wine pulling me now...
