This hotel is not bad, though in my opinion does not deserve its current high rating.
Rooms are nice and large with comfortable beds, and ours had a nice outlook onto the street. Air con was effective, and the decor is quite nice and modern. Wifi internet was very frustrating as the signal did not reach into our room. They had ethernet in the room, but the cable they provided was broken and I had to get my own. The kitchen was very basic, and literally no cooking utensils and only one pot were provided, which made it useless apart from boiling the kettle as far as we could tell. By far the worst part of the room, however, was the bathroom. A terrible smell filled the bathroom (sewerage coming up the pipes) which almost made me and my partner gag whenever we went in it. The housekeeping also never provided more than half a roll of toilet paper every day, and we had to have extra sent up twice.
The pool at the hotel looked stagnant and not in a nice setting. The breakfast was simple but good, with meats and cheeses and fresh juice. The coffee was also quite good.
Service at the hotel was mixed. Some staff were very helpful, while others were not comfortable speaking English and thus were always trying to finish the conversation quickly.
The location is good - only about a 10 minute walk to the main plaza in the centre of town, and with lots of restaurants nearby. While you're in town, don't miss eating a fantastic steak at La Barra, a short walk away, and feast of fusion food at Azafran.
We weren't really unhappy with this hotel, just not very happy with it either. It's just mediocre.
