The tile work in the park is unique and work a good look. The park is close to downtown and you willl probably walk though Plaza Espana anyway. It is a good place to enjoy an empenada or some other sort of a picnic lunch. The only downside is it was always crowded. The upside was a great ice cream store on the North East corner across the street.

The sad thing is that the park has been sprayed with graffiti, the fountains was not operational. But if you just want to sit and meditate its ok.

It can be really hot in Mendoza & two of the best things about the city are that the streets are tree lined & therefore shady & that there are plazas placed throughout the centro with pleasant benches, trees, fountains & children playing. The locals join the tourists fully utilizing this lovely respite from the heat of the day so people watching is of the first order. The Plaza Espana was one of my favorites for it's beautiful tiles representing some of the long history of relationship between Spain & Argentina. Mendoza is a lovely city in which to walk about & thank goodness for the perfectly placed plazas to recover from too much food & wine at lunch, or rest our feet for the long trek back to our hostel!

Great reminder of the Gaudi architecture. Spent à whole afternoon in the park reading, really felt like Spain.
