This is a larget hotel in the middle of the city.
Rooms are comfortable and bathrooms are also large but you can tell that this hotel has been in existance for a few years as the style of the bathrooms is a tad older.
Staff are OK but not perfect in english. Do NOT use the car from the hotel as a taxi to places within the city as they rip you off when quoting comparative prices to local taxis.
Pool small and usually full with people.
Good location though as close to the main road and the 'wines of Mendoza' shop which is excellent.

The Park Hyatt bills itself as the premier hotel in Mendoza, and it may be, but we were very disappointed with the service and the quality of this hotel. The rooms are decent size and the bathrooms modern -- but setup for minimal privacy (even if you are sharing a room with a spouse). But what this hotel really lacks is competent, reliable concierge service and the ability to help you rather than rip you off.

When you are in Mendoza you are probably there for wine touring. Unless you have a package deal with a tour company, you will use their concierge. Expect frustration, long lines, and no followup. And make sure you ask the prices ahead of time. Their drivers (i.e., the ones they arrange) may try to screw you. For instance, we toured the first few days and paid 300-400 each pesos for about 5 hours of driver + car. Expensive but worth it if the service is okay. On the 3rd day, our driver was late and it ruined our whole day because we missed two tours, and one of the tours he arranged was in Spanish! Then we he dropped us off he said the price was "800 pesos" which was more than double what I had paid before (for better service).

The concierge tried to intervene but only made the problem worse. I simply refused to pay and they cut the price down to 400 pesos.

Similar problems with dinner reservations. We must have called 5 times on some nights to confirm dinner. No matter how many times we asked for "confirmation" or a callback, we never got it. One person would take our request, we wouldn't hear anything, then we called back nobody knew anything. And we showed up at one restaurant without proper attire -- the hostess told us that she specifically told the concierge to tell us the dress code, and that she always had this problem with the Park Hyatt specifically.

The casino is a dive. You'd think the "nice" hotel in town that caters to foreign tourists would have an upscale casino for those tourists? No chance -- they cater to poor, local, chain-smoking Argentines who throw their money away at the low limit games.
Sad, really, and not very socially responsible in my opinion.

The hotel does some things right -- turndown service is nice, the spa is okay (though we had massages on regular tables, not massage tables) -- and the room prices are still cheap (for the US, expensive for Argentina).

But overall if you are paying a premium amount (in Argentina) for service you should get it, and the service at the Park Hyatt fell way below the standards anyone would expect for a luxury hotel.

Let me start by saying I'm a value guy -- I'll pay top dollar as long as I'm getting an Aman or Four Seasons experience. And if I'm paying US$150 a night, I'll expect a standard Sheraton / Hyatt experience.

This hotel is in the best location in Mendoza City. Other than that, the operative word here is "fine." Nothing to write home about. This place is not going to inspire the gushing of Cavas Wine Lodge or even the Finca. But it's not priced that way either. It's just fine.

The restaurant, Bistro M, is fine.

The rooms are modern and fine (while the front of the hotel is a historic mansion, the rooms are actually in a modern tower in the back).

The bathrooms are large and are fine (would say they are actually nice except our shower door didn't close properly and it kept flooding -- customer service response was apathetic).

The check-in / check-out service is very slow.

But all in all, this hotel is a very nice Hyatt. Because I double checked the rates 4 days before check in (we stayed starting Dec. 26) and found a US$195 rate rather than the US$315 rate I was originally booked at, I can't complain too much. This was less than at the brand new Sheraton a few blocks away (US$250) Had I paid $315, I'd obviously be singing a different tune.

Note that I said "a nice HYATT." NOT "Park" Hyatt. I've stayed at Park Hyatts in LA, Chicago, and Goa so I know that as soon as the "Park" goes in front, this is Hyatt's attempt to go toe-to-toe with Four Seasons / Ritz-Carlton / St. Regis. Having stayed at a number of the latter luxury brands, the Park Hyatt Mendoza falls woefully short of that luxury standard, so if you're paying more than $250 or if you are coming from the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires (a "real" Park Hyatt) you're going to be annoyed.

Just have the right expectations and you'll see that this place is just fine.

After traveling to Buenos Aires and staying at the Four Seasons, we traveled to Mendoza. UNFORTUNATELY--we were unable to reserve a room at Cavas Lodge (AMAZING property!!!), so we booked a room at the Park Hyatt.

After staying at the Four Seasons, the Hyatt just does not even compare. We stayed over New Year's.

Problems: lines at front desk and concierge, promised a car service that was unavailable when we wanted to go to the airport (ended up in a tiny taxi and due to bags being in the front seat, back seat and trunk--lost a bag--never to be recovered), smokey smell in are non-smoking room (had to change rooms)--from the new restaurant. Rooms on the smaller side with a view of other rooms (in a C shape building). Booked a ticket for the New Year's Eve Party (as we were told we had to if we booked our stay over NYE) and then were not on the "List" as we tried to enter for dinner!

Compliments: Adrian our driver for a wine tour was fabulous--went above and beyond his role for the day! We thank him for making the trip worthwhile.

I would NOT stay here again.

This is a really good hotel, in a superb location, in a most enjoyable city. You get the whiff of unostentatious quality as soon as you enter the lobby. The room was spacious and very well equipped, the bathroom - with a rain shower in a huge shower stall - was enormous. The free underground car-park is a very convenient benefit in the centre of such a city.
As a nice welcoming gesture we each received a 25-peso voucher to try our luck at the Casino, but one very quick walk into (and out of) that establishment was enough - it was packed with chain-smokers.
The reception service was friendly (with excellent English spoken), and there were only two small failings which prevent me from giving the Park Hyatt the full 5 out of 5.
1. With the hotel's help, we booked a table for dinner at a restaurant recommended by friends, located a good 30-minute drive from the city. An hour after the booking was made, we decided to shift this meal to lunchtime the following day, and asked reception to change the booking. We are very particular about such matters, as we abhor the idea of being a no-show. They assured us this would be done. Quite by chance, we asked a few hours later if the lunch was confirmed, and were surprised to learn that the change had not been attended to.
2. A comfortable, unmetred Remis cab from the Airport to the hotel costs 25 pesos. A metred, yellow-top from the hotel to the Airport costs about 22 pesos. What is the justification for a hotel car, for which the asking price was 60 pesos?
Apart from these minor niggles, we had a wonderful stay and would be happy to return.
