Park Hyatt Mendoza

The hotel is on a park and it is a Hyatt but that is where the similarities end in comparison to other Park Hyatt hotels. This property does not live up to Park Hyatt standards and should be demoted to a Grand Hyatt. Saying that, it is your only choice in Mendoza city and is not bad to base your Malbec drinking operation. The rooms are a bit tired and our shower had mold in the corners and smelled at various points in our stay. Service was fine but nothing extraordinary and the hotel is located in the heart of Mendoza city which is convenient. I would normally give this miss two stars but I am not aware of many other options.

Room Tip: Get a mountains facing room for the beautiful view.

Maybe I am being too harsh on the hotel itself. The place is nice and location right in the heart of Mendoza. My issues stems from the staff at night. Our room was located right above the floor with a door to an outside area and it was open to that floor. Apparently this is a place where the night staff likes to gather and talk. All night. The first night we didn't realize what the noise was and the 2 night after that we had to go out multiple times and ask them to quiet down. I stay at Hyatts all over the place and would normally have said this was a great place but I guess I am crabby when kept up all night.

Room Tip: Not on the top floor by the elevator.

We spent 6 nights in Mendoza in October 2012.
The hotel is excellent ans has an outstanding staff.

My special thanks to the concierge, Jessica, who helped is in every tour, giving us valuable tips. I'm sure that without her, our trip wouldn 't have been the same.

The concierge prices are absolutely reasonable compared to outside prices. Therefore there is no need to book anything in advance. The minute you arrive they will book and give you the best options.

Hyatt is an outstanding hotel!!!,

Not at the same level as other park hyatts. Rooms a little weathered, ie frayed linens and towels. Staff not very friendly or helpful. Food is underwhelming, try any of the great cafes and restaurans nearby. The wine bar will sell you a bottle of wine and then charge a 25 peso corkage fee, ridiculous! There are few options in Mendoza so the Hyatt isi it but don't expect the same level as other properties. They are more like a 3 star hotel in need of a physical refurbish and attitude adjustment for staff.also uncomfortable bed and weird bathroom with all glass, little privacy and closet is in the bathroom. No clock radio either.

The hotel location and lobby are fantastic. Rooms are disappointing for the price. The room deficiencies could be overlooked if the front desk staff wasn't so arrogant. For a first class hotel, the service was second rate at best. Too bad.

Room Tip: Try a different hotel.

I am happy that I booked this hotel - great rooms, staff and food - also has a heated outdoor pool which pleases me immensly. It is well positioned in the city and has good views of the mountains from some rooms.

The facade of the hotel is definitely more beautiful than inside of the building, but it keeps its charm, except when it rained: they put a pail on the floor because of the drip.
The service is very good: concierge and restaurant services, I appreciated them a lot.
The cleanliness of the room was not good as we expected, but we could handle it.
Also there are good places to eat/ drink inside of the hotel.
The swimming pool is calm and a good place to relax after a day of wine marathon.
