I only stayed one night here but I wish it could have been more. I am not a fan of these big chains, but I can only commend this hotel for the quality.

The rooms were immaculate and spacious. The food was great for dinner and breakfast.

The staff at this hotel are exceptional. A friend had her wallet stolen in the town and the staff at this hotel were outstanding in the help they gave her when contacing the police and credit card companies.

They are a credit to the hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt for 2 nights in a well appointed room--very modern with comfortable beds. We ate in the hotel dining room--Bistro M- which had an open kitchen. The food and wines were very good--There is a small casino in the hotel where you can play craps, roulette,blackjack,slots--all in pesos(3 pesos to the dollar)--a real bargain!
Mendoza is a beautiful small city with a great view of the snow-capped Andes mountains. We arranged a premium wine tour of the Uco Valley with Grapevine Tours--Outstanding!!! Ask for Charles Pestridge our wine expert guide--You can reach Charles at---visitorcharles@yahoo.es

We enjoyed the Park Hyatt Mendoza the best location in the city… great for walking and shopping. The only negative was the casino drew smoke into the lobby area. We dined at the restaurant Francesco located 1 block from the hotel, one of the best meals we had during our Argentina visit. Make sure you get the concierge to book your restaurants and excursions in advance. We lucked out when we hired a private car (Hyatt car) for three days, and got Fernando as our driver, he knows the best wine tours and restaurants. He took us on a wonderful road trip to the Andes Mts he was well informed about all the spots along the way. Would highly recommend the Canopy (Zip-line excursion) booked with ArgentinaRafting.com. There are some great small winery hotels outside the city if you want a more relaxing stay. We stayed at Finca Adalgisa for our last night to experience a small quaint country setting, and would highly recommend it. Out of the 5 wineries that we toured Catena Zapata a family owned vineyard was the best and we brought a case of their 2004 Malbec-Malbec home with us. We loved Argentina and hopefully we'll return next year.

Absolutely beautiful facade and in a perfect Mendoza city location...however, for the price, this "5-star" hotel has some work to do on the details. Things we liked: breakfast buffet (good selection and very good table service), the gym, very comfy beds and large rooms. Things we didn't like: room service on more than one occasion disappointed us, the walk-in shower did not drain properly (this left a 4-inch high lake of used shower water which the next person had to walk into to start their shower -- even hours later it would not have drained. We called management and changed rooms and the new room's shower did exactly the same thing!), and some of the decor is outdated (wood-paneling in hallways). If you have money to burn, this is the overall "nicest" hotel in Menoza centro, but for the price, it doesn't live up to what constitutes a true 5-star in other countries.

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Park Hyatt. Overall, our stay was below average. The hotel is in definite need of updating. For $300+ US dollars per night, you should expect your room to have the following: cracks in the ceiling, a thermostat that falls off of the wall, a toilet that does not flush, dingy towels, a burn in the sheets and poor air conditioning.

The service at the hotel was even worse, particularly the concierge. Prior to our arrival, we had emailed the hotel to arrange for a full day of winery tours at some of Mendoza's smaller/premium locations and had asked the concierge to select these for us. When we arrived at the hotel and inquired which wineries we would be visiting, it was visible that none of this had been arranged. On top of this, the concierge had a very rude attitude and we were made to feel that we were putting him out of his way and asking too many questions.

The next morning, our driver picked us up and took us to our first stop. Surprise...they were not expecting us because the hotel never booked any tours!! The one thing the hotel did do right was hire our driver, Robie Riedel (mendozaholidays.com). He was terrific. He scrapped the Park Hyatt's winery recommendations and set up three appointments for us.

All in all I would stay clear of this hotel for the immediate future unless you like to spend a lot of money to receive a sub par room with terrible service.

My husband, 8 yr old son and I stayed at the Park Hyatt Mendoza for 9 days in August. We appreciated being picked up at the airport, whisked to the hotel, and shown our room immediately.

The concierge was helpful in booking an auto for us, a guided tour, and calling resvns for restaurants and winery tours. We also appreciated being lent (for our entire stay) an adapter/converter for our laptop.

The internet is not wi-fi but you have a direct link via a cable in your room. You are charged a daily rate for this. Speed was fine. There was literature saying something to the effect that your connection was secure.

We loved the fact that the buffet breakfast was available from early until late in the morning. We all really enjoyed the breakfast - walnuts, fresh fruits, fresh fruit juices, Pastries (didn't eat these too much ), excellent banana bread with walnuts, cereals, yogurts, toast, ham, lovely cheese, toasters that work, egg dishes were yummy too - scrambled or an omelet. I didn't care for the sausage but my husband did. They were always good to bring us a pot of green tea.

The rooms were well-appointed and in very good condition. The marble bathroom with huge walk-in rainshower-head, and bathtub were a delight.

The hotel is very elegant and we felt right at home with our 8 year old. We revelled in the spacious lobby, dining room and bar area where the striking white walls of the inside lobby mirror the outside front face of the hotel - soaring ceilings, large stone walls, large windows, warm chairs and tables. There are many different patio areas, but as we visited during the winter, they were not heavily used. Plenty of chairs, tables and umbrellas though.

Never did make it to the afternoon tea, but the one time we tried, it was completely booked. (book ahead...)

The only discomfort we had was the smoke from the attached casino. I'm not sure why they don't have a door to close it off from the rest of the hotel or better filters in the casino itself - it is a very long hall, perhaps 50+meters, but smoke tends to travel everywhere. I'm not sure if dining on the delicious asado every supper impregnated my clothes, but every night I smelled smoke. By morning it was gone, so I suppose it was the casino smoke.

The restaurant was excellent. We were dining at the best restaurants in Mendoza and the Park Hyatt was one of two at the top of our list. We did tend to eat upstairs at the bar quite a bit as it was very comfortable, and we liked being close to the amazing 2 story display of wine with a wide circular staircase connecting the bar to the dining room below. The bar overlooks part of the dining room and has a roomy feeling as well. There is live music in the bar on weekends, and was a great spot to relax and have a bite to eat (especially as the dining room opens at normal Mendoza time around 8 or 9 pm which in the beginning of our stay was too late for us).

Location was excellent as it is situated directly on the central square for Mendoza. The playground just across the street in the square was an added bonus for our son (and us!).

Parking is just right under the hotel and is guarded.

The theatre is next door.

The hotel also has a pastry/afternoon coffee shop where you may also order substantial food items - it is next to the outdoor patio where the outdoor pool is.

The spa seemed ok, although we just had one treatment there - the fitness centre unfortunately did not accept kids so we had to split up if we were to work out.

Overall, we would love to stay again, perhaps next time for Vendimia - the Harvest Festival - can't wait to see what the breakfast looks like then!
