The food it's fantastic. The Picada for 2 was GREAT. The cheapest one its so complete we couldn't even finish alll the food. The service is really good, the location is also really good. Nice outside area with outside heating system that is really warm, we were there on a 2ºC and we were on t-shirts. They serve really good food, not really expensive.

Argentina's version of Mexican food. While the food may not be hugely authentic it is tasty. Warning, even for Argentina the portions are huge! I barely made it through a third of my dish and my husband only got down half of his. Two people can easily split most entrées.
They had a wine deal when we were there where if you bought a bottle of a certain wine they gave you one at the end of the meal to take home!

Taco Tabasco had been close to our hotel and we decided we were in the mood for Mexican food. Having read the other reviews on Tripadvisor for this restaurant we felt confident in going here. What a mistake. The staff was not very helpful and at times rude. I ordered the chicken mole and it was anything but mole. The menu described the sauce appropriately as chocolate based but when the dish arrived the sauce was just chopped tomatoes. Upon complaining they insisted there was chocolate in the sauce but no one at my table could even taste a hint of chocolate. I finally insisted they take it back and just bring me steak tacos. They did so and wound up not charging me for the tacos which i did think was a good gesture. The tacos were very marginal. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Mendoza. This is not one of them.

Traveling with my son who doesn't eat meat is only a slightly large challenge in Argentina than traveling alone since I prefer not to eat very much meat - especially of the red variety. This is challenging in Argentina except for the large number of places in which one can get pasta or pizza. But neither of us wanted to eat pasta or pizza every night and were quite delighted to find Taco Tabasco. The food was quite wonderful although not as spicy as the Mexican food we get back in the states. Had it not been our last night, I have no doubt we would have returned.

After spending five days and four nights of serious wine tasting and creative dining, it was time to clear our palates of Malbec and rich foods with a heavy dose of Tequila and Mexican cuisine.

Thanks to some professional advice from a couple of locals we had met at one of the bodegas, we managed to find Taco Tabasco (the one located at Aristides Villanueva 321 in Mendoza City). Aristides Villanueva is a very busy street crammed with a variety of dining choices (mostly locals and not too many tourists) as well as an active late night clubs scene. We scored a good patio table at Taco Tabasco, perfect for people watching, while guzzling several pre-dinner margaritas (even the bar tequila was 100% aguave)

We were fortunate to have Daniela Rey as our server ....a lovely young lady, originally from Mexico, but also spent time in Texas before heading south to Argentina. Her English is exceptional, which can become very important after five or sox margaritas. She provided our rowdy table with excellent pointers and menu suggestions. She also shared some first hand local insights for additional fun places in Mendoza later that evening!

Our group ordered and demolished:

Tablas para 4 con carnes, quesos, fiambres, salsas y guarniciones calientes y frias

Plato de la casa

Totillas rellenas de queso y carnes, banadas en salsa mignon (hongos), papas a la crema y verduras salteadas

So, in our humble opinion, Mendoza doesn't have to be all about wine and Argentine beef...the bebidas and comidas at Taco Tabasco can really enhance a fun evening.
