Our group of 7 took the mountain hiking trip. We rode in two vehicles up to a retreat where we waited for our guide. We then traveled to the property of a sheep and horse owner who also hosted the meal after the hike. The guide was very accommodating to the hiking limitations of our group and modified the hike to follow a river rather than the usual steep hike up challenging rocky slopes. The scenery was beautiful -- lovely vistas. The sky was turning grey with a pending rain storm. One person in our party suffered from the altitude and the guide handled that very professionally. We returned to the house of the owner of the land in light rain and enjoyed a meal of freshly baked bread along with cheese, pepperoni and some bread baked with cheese, We also had good Argentinian Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, sitting by the fire as it poured with rain outside. On the return drive we stopped to look at guanacos. Everyone in the group enjoyed the hike very much and would recommend it to friends. Good hiking shoes or boots are a must as is rain proof jackets/bags.
