“Great romantic dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

Not sure what more to write, aside from the fact it was yet another excellent dinner in Mendoza. We ate outside and did people watching throughout dinner. Traffic was a little bit noisy, but not enough to distract from the great experience.

“Put Ocho Cepes #1 on places to eat in Mendoza.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

This review is a little late since it is from September of 2011. My wife and I talk about Ocho Cepes more than any restaurant we have ever visited. I finally did a review. Mendoza is a great restaurant city. There are many good places to eat, and a few that are great. By far Ocho Cepes was the best. Their Osso Bucco ravioli was so good my wife and I went back and ordered the exact same dinner two days later. The place is small and very unpretentious. From the outside you would not expect anything special. This place is just about great food and wine. They have a very good wine list. Note that they carry several selections from the Bramare vineyards of Cobo Vino which is part owned by Pau; Hobbs. For $65 American you can have a bottle of wine that would cost two to three times that in an American restaurant if you could find it on the list.

“Fantastic, simply a must!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

This place is outstanding. The service was superb, and the food was the best we had while in Argentina. Everything from the bread, to the wine to the starters and mains. While I went traditional with empanadas to start and ribs for main which were all top notch, my wife went with the veggie options with a lovely pear salad to start and a pumpkin and ricotta tortellini main with mushroom and Malbec sauce. If the description alone isn't enough persuasion, then her verdict as a vegetarian foodie was "a meal she won't forget". The ambience too deserves a mention, a beautiful interior with a homely feel. Go without hesitation.

“Gem of a restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2012

Ocho cepes is on a quiet corner of downtown Mendoza. It was recommended by the hotel and we were blown away. For a small restaurant the food was incredible; great parilla, great pastas and wines. The price was wonderful and despite the number of fine restaurants, we found ourself returning for a second dinner. A hidden gem...

“Good but not great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

Ocho Cepas is certainly a cut above the average parrilla, but not quite gourment territory. The setting is charming, however, very inviting. And the staff attentive. Recommended, but there may be one or two other places in Mendoza I would recommend more.
