“Nice location, mediocre steaks”

We were excited to eat yhe beef here after a friend said hed had the best steak of his life yhere. Ours were not cooked right and chewy. The chocolate mousse dessert with red berries was fantastic though. Cute location

“Delicious”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

We've learnt that the restaurants always bring that lovely bread and in the case of Ocho Cepas some pate on toasts before we've even ordered so no need for a starter. The restaurant is in a house situated on a corner and our downstairs window table allowed us to watch the world go by. The food was outstanding. The ossobuco ravioli was declared the best that had ever been eaten - under severe completion from the salmon in cream sauce which was perfection on the plate. All this washed down by a delightful malbec red recommended by our very knowledgeable waiter. Such was the choice of the desserts we had to have three - and yes we did get through them all. Delicious food, great service - a great night out

“Very nice place, good value”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Ocho Cepas is set in a nice little house on the corner of two streets. We didn 't have a reservation and were taken upstairs where we could choose from a couple of tables. Ours had a nice view of the street from the window.

The menu is not too extensive and focuses on three areas - meats, fish and pasta. I had the ossobuco ravioli and my companion the parrillada for one. His parrillada had almost everything: various cuts of beef, chicken, chorizo and morcilla. My raviolis were very good, actually comparable to Azafran's lamb ravioli I had the other night, but half the price. The wine selection is good and the bottles are offered at very reasonable prices (matching or less what I pay in our neighbourhood wine store in BsAs).

All in all a very good choice, though it lacks the atmosphere, warmth and attention Azafran has. Would return.

“Cute place - great for a date”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

Nice restaurant set in an old house. Didn't even realize, until I saw the shower/tub in the men's restroom. I would definitely recommend eating here. Didn't have the largest selection of foods or wines, but it was quality eating. If you have any specific wine you wish to eat - remember most places in Mendoza will allow you to bring your own wine for a small bottle fee. Well worth the cost!
