We lunched at this place which was close to our hotel and the main Plaza Independencia, just walking in off the street with no recommendations. We were seated upstairs and had empanadas capresa with tomato, basil and mozzarella as well as empanada criolla with ground beef and onion plus a good chef's salad with lettuce, mushroom, avocado, beets, olives, onion, hard boiled egg, palmitos and corn bread: a huge salad for USD6 and overall good food and value. As others indicated, the service was for us also not lightening fast but not terrible and the initially grumpy waiter eventually cheered up. We would come back to this restaurant again.
