“Personal service with a smile”

The owner of this hostel, Gus, is a gem. He truly does everything he can to make you feel welcome and looks after you really well. This more than made up for the location of the hostel on a busy and noisy corner. He is at his desk when you wake up and is there when you get home, what a worker, this also means that security is great. The hostel was clean and the facilities were good. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at this hostel and felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend when we left Gus.

Room Tip: The double room with a private room can be a bit noisy. Best bet is to pick the double room upstairs...

We had a really good stay here. There is a great kitchen and large living room area. The staff are very helpful and happy to give advice. We ended up extending our time here because we liked it so much.

I´ve stayed in tons of hostels and am not picky at all but I checked out of this hostel early because I was disgusted. The hostel is totally run down and there were bed bugs. The entire top floor had to share 1 bathroom!! The bathroom had a toilet and shower combined so it took forever to get ready in the morning. Breakfast was a joke. There was one computer but internet was a snails pace. The location is about 10 blocks away from everything. Jezebel, although nice, was extremely pushy selling tours and excursions. There are tons of options in Mendoza, please dont stay here!

I found this hostel was very much overrated online, then noticed that the first review on trip advisor was posted by the girl who works there, Jezabel. She highly recommended the place, saying it was the best hostel she had stayed in in South America, that the asado was excellent etc. etc. when we didn´t find it all that great. The barbeque was overpriced for what we got i.e. tough meat and not enough to go around - there are a few all-you-can-eat places a few blocks away for less money. Other travelers had the same complaint as we did about them being extremely pushy on trying to sell their tours - everyone who walks in is quickly persuaded to watch a sky diving video before their backpack is off their back. The bathrooms smell all the time and a lot more toilet paper is needed. We were told online that a double room would be available for us and when we arrived that was not the case, the excuse being that our mail was received too late the previous day. Internet was very slow and there´s just one computer. All in all, it´s a mediocre place to stay and we've found much better on our travels. I think it´s a bit tacky for a hostel to write their own review that misleads travelers.

We arrived at the hostel early due to the morning arrival of the overnight bus from Bariloche. Gustavo told me that it was too early to check in but we could leave our rucksacks in the storage room until later. We had a double room with en-suite and it was more than adequate. In general, I thought that the facilities were fairly good (excellent wifi) but the thing that made this hostel stand out for us were the satff, Gustavo and Jezebel. They organised a couple of tours for us, gave us lots of advice regarding the city and surrounding area, cooked a delicious, genuine Argentinian asado (barbecue - we had to pay for the meat) and were always cheerful and helpful. The location was fairly good in that it is only a 10-15 minute walk to the centre. We would happily return there any time.

We stayed here over New Year's as we thought a hostel would provide some entertainment. Not so. But still, it is a very clean hostel with an extremely helpful owner, Gustav. Breakfast is served every morning, whenever you get up as far as I can tell, and consists of coffee/tea, tang and medilunas or toasted bread.

We stayed in the second floor 2 person room with shared bathroom and then switched to the bottom floor one with own bathroom. Both really clean. The second floor one had an aircon and the bottom one only a fan.

Although on a main street, we didn't have any troubles sleeping due to traffic.

The kitchen was equipped to cook the basics. Towels provided.

Only the son speaks OK English, Gustav will try but is not good at it.
