As frequent users of review on Trip Advisors, we decided to dine at El Parilla de Jesus Maria in Mendoza for lunch. When we arrived we were greeted by the Manager and led to our patio table, welcomed and given menus. We found the menu fairly limited to Parilla items but that is to be expected. Our waiter Javiar was very professional and spoke some English and took our order. We decided to share the brochette bife chorizo and when it came we were glad we had decided to share. We had one skewer of veal with vegetables and one piece of beef which had to be at least 14 ounces and was the most flavorful we had experienced in Mendoze. The wine selection was extensive with a wide variety of price ranges. We ordered a Alta Vista Classic Cabernet for 100 pesos.
Before the meal we were served empanada bundles which had been deep fried. Javiar was attentive throughout the meal without hovering. At the end of the meal, we ordered dessert. My wife had champagne and lemon sorbet and I enjoyed figs with mascarpone, nuts and a liquor sauce. At the end, we were served chilled lemoncello. Our overall bill was very inexpensive even with a beer and a gin and tonic to start. I was thoroughly impressed with the restaurant, the service and the ambiance and would recommend this to anyone traveling to Mendoza.
