Had a great four night stay at this elegant hotel. The location was fantastic, within walking distance to great restaurants, shops and an excellent ice cream place on the corner with incredible flavors. The lobby is gorgeous, the front desk was always attentive although busy and the room was very spacious and modern. We were on the 15th floor in a city/mountainview room. The only things that would have made my stay perfect would have been a tissue box in the bathroom, a solid shelf or ledge in the shower to place shampoos, soap, etc. The shower does have a problem with water leaking on the floor creating a wet mess. Also a clock on the night table would have been nice, I did peek into spa and noticed a gym and what appeared to be a small outside pool. The breakfast room was spacious and beautiful with a variety of delicious buffet offerings, I;d say more european than american although they did offer scrambled eggs and sausage. We booked a city tour, wineries and a trip to the mighty Andes Mountains and loved all of them.

The Diplomatic is a 5 star hotel except for a few fatal flaws which if I could would drop it to 3.5 stars. I give it 4 because it doesn't take much to get there and to 5.

Location-5 easy access to all in Mendoza
Service- 5 very friendly and attentive
Rooms - 5 clean, great beds, modern
Gym - 0 there was none. The subcontracted gym company pulled out leaving nothing taking away the machines, jacuzzi, sauna :-(. The pool is teeny, freezing and a meter deep.
Internet - 3. A 5 star has to have faster than usual speeds. Everyone carries multiple devises and we need good bandwidth to watch Neflix, upload large files, etc

Overall, great hotel and once they fix a couple things they'll be a 5

Hotel is walking distance to the good bars and restaurants and the rooms are very big and comfortable. It's definitely not maintained but if you're used to four star conference hotels in Europe, this is equal to that (ie things are starting to date, the decor is gilded edges). The mens bathrooms in the lobby i am told smell. The breakfast buffet is good - nothing made to order but plentiful. If you're expecting American type four star service, you won't get it consistently here. It's a bit hit/miss - we asked for some wine tasting tour recommendations ( didn't get any - they were meant to call our room) but they will call places directly for you.

We did a rafting day trip ( recommend) and just did the bike self guided tours at maipu (about 70 pesos for taxi or you can buy a red bus card for I think about 13 pesos if you load it up with a trip to maipu). Terma cacheuta was nice too - just book directly with the spa.

We really enjoyed our three nights here. Terrific rooms that were is nice condition but not perfect. Very clean though. Bathtub and shower. Very good breakfast with lots of healthy options; good service in here. Front desk service was mediocre but they were pleasant. Nice view of the mountains from our room. The is a great central location for visiting wineries and gives tourists the options of many great restaurants and bars nearby.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the Andes

Everything was excellent!

The service is impecable. They are all friendly and helpfull. The rooms are modern, comfortable and spacious. It has very good location near to sarmiento street that is full with restaurants and to Mendoza main square. Breakfast is very very nice..you can have a Mimosa if you want! Overall, Good price /value ratio...a five star hotel at the price of a four star hotel.

You won't regret it !

We stayed 3 nights on the 8th floor overlooking the mountains and the city. The room was always very clean. The only small detail is that the hotel does not have its own taxi service, which makes the wait a little longer. We recommend it as an alternative to the Hyatt, at a more reasonable price.

Room Tip: The rooms located at the corners of the bulding are more spacious.

Modern, clean, comfortable hotel in an ideal location in Mendoza. The staff was attentive and friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel has a luxurious look and feel, but the amenities (business center, pool, gym) are not five-star caliber. Nonetheless, this was a very comfortable and convenient stay.
