This hotel is a great value in the center of Mendoza. We prefered Mendoza city to the Valley del Lujo area as Mendoza is a very walkable "city" and Valley de Lujo requires a car or a remise. You can easily stroll to a number of boutique restaurants and wine shops from this hotel- Azafran, Florintino Bistro, Siete Cocinas, etc. We loved the vibe of this little city with low buildings, cafes, tons of trees, and cute plazas.

We had a corner room with mountain views- the room was spacious and clean and had a view of the city treetops. Although not as nice as the Hyatt, it's half the price and only a couple of blocks away. The service was also fantastic- helpful with reservations, always made sure our cab drivers knew where they were going, accomodated a late check out.

The breakfast wasn't great (lots of options favoring quantity over quality), but was adequate before going wine tasting or touring the city.

Positives: Large rooms, great location, excellent service, breakfast included, staff

Negatives: Big hotel. Design is bland.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner top level room. Larger size and great views.

Great, modern hotel in downtown Mendoza. The rate was excellent value for money, the rooms are huge and the view from our room spectacular, with the Andes in the distance. The hotel also has a spa, gym and pool - although as others have commented the pool is a little on the small size. The lobby is particularly eye-catching - ornate and grand with marble everwhere - and the staff were professional and helpful at a times. We only stayed for one night but would thoroughly recommend this if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Mendoza city.

Pulling up to the Diplomatic, you know you're staying somewhere plush! A very grand entryway for a very grand entrance. We had a triple room with views of the Andes that blew my mind every time I looked out the window.

The bathroom was a clear cubical looking into the room but luckily curtains provided sufficient privacy. Nice touches in the room: good quality toiletries and lovely little biscuits left out for us in the living area.

Very comfortable. The staff were very professional and courteous and the daily wine tasting in the private tasting area was an especially nice touch. Even if you've been out all day drinking, always room for one more!

Good hotel, professional staff, the best location you can ask for. Nice rooms with huge, comfy beds. Quite poor breakfast selection. Small pool area - pool with extremely cold water, probable straight from the Andes :)

Stayed here with my family for three nights while we visited bodegas in Mendoza. Booked on-line and were stunned when we saw this hotel - it's really beautiful from the lobby to the restaurant and rooms. the staff were friendly and professional.

Spent 4 nights here after driving from Vina Del Mar through Los Andes. Excellent service right from the check in, valet service, very smooth and friendly service and all the staff spoke some English to compliment our rudimentary Spanish. Wine tasting in early evening is a nice touch and gratis. La Bourgnone Restaurant is very very good for an evening dinner. Breakfast is included and substantial and varied. Fitness club is one of the best I've seen in any hotel anywhere, very clean and well maintained with a nice outdoor pool and hot tubs. Rooms are huge and well appointed, robes supplied etc.. We were pleasantly surprised as this hotel would not be out of place in any major urban area in the world. We found the price very reasonable.

Room Tip: Corner rooms have a view of the Andes

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary although we are an American couple living in Mendoza. We booked a standard city-view room online at a great rate, and upon arrival at the hotel, were informed at check-in that we were upgraded to a corner room. The room was really large, with nice, clean wood floors. This was a nice change from carpeting that you'd find at other high-end properties. The room was immaculate and the bed was enormous, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The bed was extremely comfortable.

The bathroom was super clean and the bathrobes were comfortable. They even provided bath salts with the toiletries. Worth noting is that the in-room hairdryer is really powerful, so you wouldn't have to bring your own from home, even if you have thick hair. I loved how it was divided between the vanity and sink and the rest of the bathroom - perfect for getting ready if you are sharing the room.

The pool, while small, is well-appointed and clean. The gym looks great, but was disappointingly closed for the holiday (as is most of the city - no shocker there).

Afternoon tea in the lounge area of the restaurant was nice, and quiet. We chose not to eat on-site for dinner, as there are many great restaurants nearby. The location is fantastic; tons of great restaurants and sights are within walking distance.

The breakfast was a good attempt at American breakfast. While not amazing by any means, it did the job and the sparkling wine was a great perk. We made our own mimosas and the service was attentive.

All in all, this property has everything you'd expect from a high-end hotel and is an incredible value. We can't wait to stay here again!
