This local was the home of a Governor of Mendoza, so you get to flavor, not only the amazing selection of cheeses and salumeria, but the history behind the place.
The wine are great and the neighborhood safe and lovely.

A friend organized a lunch here for a group of 7 people, based on a recommendation from the guide at nearby Luigi Bosca winery. The food was phenomenal! You start with what could only be described as a "groaning board" of meats, cheeses, antipasti, breads, etc. This is followed by a traditional clay oven dish then a pasta dish then dessert. The restaurant is organized around a courtyard with many small rooms - our group had a private room. The very reasonable fee included everything, even water, wine and coffee.

I had the best meal of my life here - the first course was an absolutely incredible experience and at about US$30, with unlimited good-quality wine with the meal, the price is great.

Tips ask for your own private dining area in the cave. To save money, the bus takes you nearby and is about 30-40 mins from the center of town.

We went to this restaurant on recommendation of our tour guide after a morning wine tour, since we were looking for a place to have a light al fresco lunch. The previous reviews have set it all out, so I won't repeat, suffice to say that it was ridiculously over the top. We cold not even get through a third of the starter and had to leave straight after that. We were not informed that it was a fixed menu, nor of the quantities or the cost. It was definitely not al fresco dining as we were closed in an old stuffy dust and dark room. So, when we said we really could not eat any more, we still were faced with this huge bill of 360 pesos! Needless to say, we were greatly disappointed.
