But I should have obviously know that, we were let down by another hotel and at the last minute booked the Sheraton.
Having stayed in other Sheraton hotels I expected a little more than what we got.
No staff to be seen on arrival, a very unfriendly welcome at the desk and a very underwhelming room.
It's such a bland hotel, it's just you hope that in these big hotels the service will make up for it!
On our first day we decided to relax and go to the pool, the pool was shut, we were promised it would be open later.. It never opened and 3 days later we were still left with dry swimsuits.
We got a shrug of the shoulders when we mention it and that was the general reaction we got from every member of staff.
We will never book a Sheraton again, not worth the risk!

We were staying at another hotel when we spotted the Sheraton and proceeded to leave our hotel and move to the Sheraton. The Sheraton is in a great location accessible to tour operators, shops, cafe's, restaurants, rental cars, pharmacy, gas station and banks. The quality of the rooms is pure Sheraton, spacious rooms, plush rugs, great mattress, high count bed linens. Breafast was included and what a feast, breads, crossaints, multitude of cereals, yogurt, cold cuts, fresh fruits, dry fruits, eggs, - something for everyone. The lunch buffet was delicious with such variety of salads and fresh juices I did not get to the hot food. The front desk was wonderful and informative and helpful when we were looking to transfer here. The pool is beautiful and the gym has many ultra modern machines. My only complaint is that it did not have and iron in the room and that lack of towels. Is there a trend not to use washcloth? On our first day we had two bath towels and two hand towels, the next day we only had one bath towel and two hand towels- we complained and it was brought up quickely. The second day we had only one bath towel and one hand towel, we complained again. I do not know what is up with the missing towels, but this needs to be corrected.

This is the typical pre-digital hotel where the wi-fi connection is practically non existent (extremely weak signal and very slow connex when you get it) and worst of all you have to pay a daily charge using last decade's protocols that have to be re-entered over and over.
Charging your vices in your room? forget it.....only the desk has outlets as the outlets in the rest of the room are hidden behind furniture......
Not worth to continue about the bad shower, closed bar, etc.....hard to recommend a renovation as it is located in the wrong side of a beautiful town.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel

This is an excellent hotel. We spent a week there at the end of last month and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lobby is impressive as you enter and the room size and quality is excellent. The food and service in the lobby restaurant are also excellent.

Mendoza was the third Sheraton we stayed at in Argentina last month after stays in Salta and Buenos Aires. The Mendoza Sheraton is by far the best of the three with excellent standards.

The only improvement needed is to speed up check-in. Ours was painfully slow with only one set of customers in front of us who had an endless conversation with the one staff member on the check-in desk.

We stayed in the Sheraton twice in January with a visit to Bariloche in between. A total of 6 nights at the hotel. I was expecting a fairly standard, nicely built, Sheraton hotel. On arrival we were impressed by the hotel. It has everything you need and expect of a high end 4-star/basic 5-star hotel. Efficient check in process.

As a SPG Gold we had been upgraded to a junior suite, very nice to have a bit more room. The staff were extremely friendly and throughout both stays remembered us by name and greeted us extremely well, even recognising us by name upon our return the 2nd stay.

Service from all staff was fantastic without exception. We had to call a doctor as I had a throat infection, the hotel arranged for a doctor to come to the hotel within 30 minutes of our request - if only this service was available else where! The hotel even provided one of their staff to translate for us.

One member of staff stood out as exceptional, constantly providing support and seeming to anticipate our every need - Fabio - well done and thank you!

Would definitely recommend this as a perfect spot to explore Mendoza town and the wine regions. We loved walking around the city, nothing is very far and it is very safe and friendly.

Room Tip: Request a room on the front which has great views over the Andes and the city.

I don’t even know where to begin with the nightmare of a stay at the Sheraton Mendoza. My partner, parents, and I stayed here from 24 December-28 December in two club floor rooms. Initially, I had booked the Intercontinental Mendoza for a very inexpensive rate($149) in one of their suites but was a little hesitant about being away from the city centre and not having a club floor lounge. As I result, I switched to the Sheraton Mendoza, which is located in the centre as well as has a club floor lounge. I am a Starwood Preferred Guest Gold Member and I can honestly say I would NEVER stay at this hotel again OR recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Service is unheard of and a joke in this hotel. When we arrived at the Mendoza airport, things were a breeze. We got two taxis and were on our way to the hotel. It’s about a 15-20 minute ride from the airport to the hotel. Check in was painless enough, nothing really to write home about. The things I didn’t like was the fact that no one every discussed the benefits of the club floor lounge, so it leaves you wondering about the hours, what they offer, etc. We found the club floor lounge, which is the top level. Unlike ANY other club floor lounge I’ve been to, no on was there staffing the lounge, just a sign stating all day snacks and beverages during non Happy Hours. The problem however was there were no snacks and already opened beverages in a metal ice bucket with no supplies anywhere in stock. We finally located an employee, who ignored us. We proceeded to ask her about the benefits and weren’t given any information. Later on that evening, the young rude girl was still there and no change in her attitude. There was no food really available and when we inquired we were told that they have already put food out. We asked the young rude girl about alcoholic beverages and she laughed in our faces and told us no alcohol. We were confused by what she meant... They don’t serve complimentary alcohol or they don’t have alcohol in the hotel--We were willing to purchase wine if that were the case, but were never given the option. Later that evening we called down to the front desk and asked about breakfast in the morning and were told the club floor doesn’t serve breakfast and we didn’t have a breakfast rate. However, we were told by other hotel staff members that guests of the club floor can have complimentary breakfast downstairs in the restaurant. After this experience, I went back to our room and emailed the General Manager about our first impression of the hotel. Shortly after emailing her, I received a call from the MOD asking about what happened and how he could alleviate the situation. I told him I would get back to him as I needed to talk to my partner and discuss our options-- whether we wanted to continue to stay at the Sheraton or go back to our original plan and stay at the Intercontinental. About 20-30 minutes went by and we heard a knock at our door (Do Not Disturb was on our door) and he sent up two fruit and cheese platters as an apology... Fair enough, but in the future, CALL first before going to a guest’s room. Also, a $10USD worth of fruit and cheese isn't a true apology... I'm thinking more a credit stay, refund, or points.
Furthermore, we asked to see the concierge (they don’t have one and the front desk WON’T help you) about wine tours and sights and we were directed to a tour agency near the front door of the hotel. Their prices there are OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE! Even worse, depending on the time of day or the person you ask, the prices change. You are much better off hiring a remise driver and booking the wine tours and tastings on your own. We ended up using the hotel recommended tour company twice. The first time we paid for three wineries, but the driver took us to one that kept up there too long to make our final appointment, but still were charged to see three wineries. The second time, the driver got lost and we spent an hour trying to help him find the winery. After all of these bad experiences with the Sheraton, we just kept to ourselves and counted down the days until we left Mendoza and headed to Buenos Aires. The icing on the cake was our last night, we went to the 'club lounge' to get some beverages and the rude young lady from our first night was there. We had been told she had been spoken to about her attitude. She again ignored us. We asked for beverages (there weren't any) and she told we couldn't have them because we might take them to our rooms. She was the rudest employee there by far, but that isn't saying much for the rest of the staff. In summary, this is THE WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in and wouldn’t have my dog stay here. Don’t waste your time or money with the Sheraton Mendoza. Read the other reviews about this hotel... They are ALL true. No one cares and nothing gets done at this hotel. I literally travel around the world(6 of 7 continents seriously) all year long and have never stayed at a worst Starwood property or hotel for that matter. The Starwood group needs to come in and save this hotel before it’s too late... And I’m thinking it’s WAY too late! Staying at the Sheraton Mendoza was the WORST part of our annual Christmas holiday trip and we are writing a letter to both Starwood Customer Care and the general manager, Katherine Jarmillo.

Room Tip: Stay at a different hotel--- Grand Hyatt is the only place to stay... And this is coming from a loya...

This hotel is a good value and the room was fine. Yes I do agree with others that the glass partition is problem if trying to sleep and someone needs to use the bathroom because of the light. The hotel is right on the border of an iffy area, but one block from the pedestrian area that was nice. The Park Hyatt is a little more centered and appears more upscale from the lobby, but I think is more expensive.

Service was pretty good and they spoke english fine.
