HIghlights: Well located. Nicely designed and renovated rooms. Large. Good fitness, spa, and pool centre.

BUT: could not control the thermostat in the room, could not get shower water below hot/warm, low quality bathroom amenities, weak on English among staff.

Overall, the commitment to good quality service is lacking despite the nice facilities. I would likely feel comfortable going again, if the price was competitive and I was not going with high expectations for something other than a solid average hotel experience.

I have stayed in Sheratons all over the world and they are usually a positive experience. This was not the case in Mendoza. We got no help with our bagage on arrival. We had booked a club room with breakfast, but could only get a twin room when booking. We arrived at 9.30 a.m. and were told that our room would be available at 3 p.m. but that they would try to get it ready by 1 p.m. Still no king-size bedrooms available. We asked to go to the club lounge to wait and were directed to a dingy bar on the ground floor where coffee was available. After much prevarication it was finally admitted that the top-floor lounge was in fact closed. We were also told that breakfast was not included in our room rate, contrary to our written confirmation. I should add we are SPG´s. The young lady on the customer relations desk sorted things out and got us into a king-sized room by 11 a.m. The hotel seemed to be more or less empty, which perhaps explained the dispirited attitude of the staff. Our room was OK, although not of normal club standard; the hotel is only a couple of years old, yet the furniture was old and scuffed, perhaps moved from elsewhere. A door to the toilet was warped and my wife got stuck inside. Help arrived quickly and we were told the door would be fixed by the next day. Did not happen. We asked for a catalogue of services available in the hotel, but none was available. Breakfast OK, apart from the staff cleaning and resetting our table when we went for second-helpings. Poor standard of English spoken by most of the staff. The top-floor lounge opened again the next day; the range of drinks consisted of one coca-cola and one fanta. Once again the same atmosphere of desolation. The internet did not work there, nor could you change chanels on the TV, presumably no batteries changed. No staff in sight.
Snail´s pace checkout, for some reason two credit card payments were required. I needed help to access the free internet in the lounge, not clear why. On paying for the internet in your room you have to pay twice if you have two computers, not the most unusual circumstance in this day and age. But, as many others have pointed out, Sheraton sees the internet as a much-needed source of income, rather than an automatic free service.
One honourable mention, a young bell-boy called Fernando, who was pleasant, friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. He must feel pretty lonely.

The hotel location and building is fine. However, this seems to be a very poorly managed hotel - the service and the staff attention was the worst we have experienced in Argentina, and there were extremely many "little" mistakes with everything from the air-conditioner to the check-in. We wasted a lot of time waiting around for things to be fixed, including extremely slow serving of coffee/tea at breakfast, a looong wait in the bar in the evening, lack of towels at the pool area etc etc.

We recommend to just find another hotel. (And this is not a Sheraton-issue, we also stayed at Sheraton Iguazu during our travels in Argentina and it was fantastic!!)

Room Tip: If you go there, check that everything seems OK (shower, air-con, glasses, towels, the bill etc.)

The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. We arrived earlier than the check-in time and went directly to concierge to finish our vineyard and restaurant plans. We had a wonderful woman named Kathy who suggested great vineyards. She made our trip easy and fun. We had a great room on the 9th floor that was spacious and very clean. We had breakfast in the mornings and the food selection was good and the coffee wasn't bad considering it is Argentina. We had dinner at the restaurant on the 19th floor on our third night and the view was incredible. You should order the onion soup if you go! Definitely a great choice for a hotel in Mendoza!!!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are quieter!

I typically LOVE Starwood hotels. The Sheraton Mendoza had a nice room upgrade and a beautiful Club Lounge area. The service is terrible though; particularly with their 3rd party providers (Enjoy Casino and the tour operator in the lobby). They are all connected and share a lobby. The hotel is well aware of the issues. The service is so slow you must expect to wait 3x - 4x the length for any request. For instance, they say they offer SPG service on the 17th floor starting at 5:30PM, but really it's just whenever they decide to show up. It has been a terribly frustrating experience here at this hotel. So long as a room is all you need, you're in good shape. But don't think of coming here and getting help with a wine tour or having a good experience at a professionally run casino.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor facing the Andes.

I stayed at this hotel twice and both occasions I found it excellent. On the first stay, I checked in at 01:00 am after my travel agent booked me into a terrible hotel close by and having just completed 23h of flying a decent hotel was in order. The staff at check in at that time in the morning were friendly and helpful, just what I needed. The second stay was even better. After check-in,I went up to the assigned room, but it was still being serviced. The porter immediatly phoned front desk and I was upgraded to a suite, which was truly excellent. I cannot fault this hotel on anything!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the mountains, the view is truly magnificent.
