Our last visit was in April 2016. It was nice to be greeted like old friends by the owners and by the parrillero who even remembered what cuts of meat we liked.
As always the sirloin was grilled to perfection and very tender.
Very recently the restaurant added the Almacén de los Perreyra
a nice boutique delicatessen selling their wines and many other goodies.
It looks very upmarket and is just next door to the pulperia.
Definitely recommended during a visit to Santa Rosa de Calamuchita.

In the heart of the village this traditional Argentine parilla serves up wonderful grilled meats, pastas, salads and more. I ordered the bife de lomo---filet mignon---which was perfectly cooked and large enough for two. My partner chose chicken supreme which was three breaded chicken breasts. With a side order of papas fritas---French fries---and the generous bread basket this was more than enough for dinner for two. The service was friendly, efficient and fast. The atmosphere is genuine Argentine. Prices are modest for the size of the portions and with a small bottle of wine, a pitcher of lemonade, our bill was just under US$40 in total. It was the perfect place for our first vacation dinner in Calamuchita.

Went for dinner on Tuesday night, restaurant closes every Wednesday.
The decor is typically Argentinian but there are also old radios, gaucho spurs, snake skins and fur of various local animals.
Food is mainly meat of various kinds, beef, pork, lamb etc.
The food feels real and the breads are home made, most items are sourced locally so the flavours are untarnished by too much processing. We had "tira de asado" a type of T-bone steak cut lengthwise that was extremely tasteful.
We like it so much that we returned for lunch the following day but the place closes on Wednesday.
A restaurant to revisit soon.

We liked the atmosphere indoors and they also have an outside seating area. My husband didn't fall in love with the beef asado parilla bbq, but my pasta was great. The service seemed rushed, but they do have a good wait staff. They do charge a service fee per person, but that is because most people in Argentina aren't used to tipping.
