Great barbecue style restaurant. You can taste typical dishes such as locro ( type of stew) and asado and a variety of sausages, ribs and other delicacies for meat lovers. Prices are regular and service is satisfactory

The restaurant is excellent and the food is generally very good. It's mainly a parrilla a.k.a as a steak house. However I did have pasta and enjoyed it very much, it was cooked al dente and the sauce was home made. My companion had lamb cooked to perfection.
The reason I didn't give 5* is that, in common with other restaurants in Argentina we find it difficult to get a gin & tonic as an aperitif, this time they had the gin ( a small amount of it) but they didn't have the tonic water!
I wonder why, in a country with so much British influence, this drink is difficult to get.
Worse still is to ask for a dry sherry, outside Buenos Aires I'm beginning to think it's better to stick to red Malbecs, you can't go wrong with this anywhere. We did have a Tempranillo however that was excellent.
The visit was on a Sunday night and the place was only half full, this being the low season in Villa General Belgrano.

We visited twice this trip having been here before. They've now extending the decking near the small brook which passes in front of the restaurant. Arroyo in Spanish means a brook.
The meat is excellent and the chorizos tasty although they are rather small. This is common throughout Cordoba so it fits with the local pattern.
A table in the extension to the main restaurant brings you close to the nice views of the green banks of the arroyo rather than the tables inside the main room.
Although food is good service varies, my companion asked for chimichurri (a delicious sauce) to accompany meats and by the time it arrived he'd already eaten the chorizo. It's obvious the the waitress needed more training. We had better service with a waiter ona previous visit.
The place takes credit and debit cards, the wine and beer are excellent .
As most restaurants Monday is their closing day.

Posta del Arroyo is the best place for fire-grilled beef in General Belgrano town. Conveniently located, is can be reached walking two blocks down from the main street. Sitting right besides a small creek, it offers from the outer, air-conditioned room, a nice view of the surroundings during the meal. Service is prompt and very, very friendly.
Beef is great and portions generous, specially the "brochetes de lomo" (sirloin skewers) . Consider sharing. Price a bit above the average, but not expensive. Wine list is extensive at very good prices - a medium red costs less than US$ 10 a 3/4 bottle. The place is also known for serving other specialities - frog and lamb. Two good pretext for coming back.

We have tried every single restaurant in this village, and Posta del Arroyo takes the cake. Try sitting outside; it has a great deck overlooking the river. We've tried fried frogs and they were delicious. Their beef is superb. Their trout is a delicacy. Their pastas are good too. Try to go earlier or make reservations, especially on the weekend as it fills up quickly
