Really excellent adventure exploring the Delta last week with Fernando and his colleague Lucila. Tours of an amazing network of canals and riverside communities just 45 minutes train ride from Buenos Aires. Fernando's inflatable boats are comfortable and the trip is personalized completely, including providing a steak dinner at his riverside house.

Highly recommend Safari Delta.

We didn't look up any boat companies or trips in Tigre in advance, didn't plan our trip. We just took a train to Tigre (Tigre line, not Tren de la Costa). We walked to Tren de la Costa station to find about tourist attractions and there we found Safari Delta information booth. Fernando (the owner) had the boat available for 3 hours only because he was booked later in the day but we didn't have much time either so this was ok. But I hightly recommend booking your trip in advance and for at least 5 hours if not more. At first, it was strange: small and very simple boat. We were not sure about the whole thing because we haven't looked it up in advance. But it turned out wonderful. If you like Disney Park ride on the river instead of real thing don't do Safari Delta. Because this is not it. We went on small rivers and looked at islanders life and some totally unpopulated areas. Then we stopped at Fernando's "bar". It's a small shack on the river, very simple. Fernando cooked meat and poured wine. The place is very quite, and there is a feeling that the time slows there. The neighbor's dogs come in, the birds sing, the flowers smell fragrantly. And suddenly you are in this state of bliss that cannot happen in the rushed, busy, noisy cities. You forget about time, worries, work, finances, you just smell the flowers, enjoy good wine and eat a wonderful steak. I wish we can go back.

We went with Fernando and Safari Delta for a trip In one of their small open boats. Good choice sine the boat could take us places where no other could go. That was amazing. We had dinner at Fernando' s little place In the Delta, and stayed the night. It was fabulous to witness the delta slow down at night and come to life again at dawn. Truly recommendable. The house is very 'rustic', but beds are comfortable. Life on the river is an experience to be had. And the guides are wonderful.

Safari Delta is hard to find since it's not "recognized by the municipality," but I think they're threatened by the competition. Fernando and his crew are amazing! They're located at a kiosk near the Tren de la Costa Station. While more expensive than other boat tours, they really care about your experience in Tigre. We (3 girls) took a small private boat out with 2 guides (1 trainee) and they took us wherever we wanted for 5 hours. They spoke great Spanish and taught us plenty about the Tigre. They even stopped the boat for us to get into the water and take pictures whenever we wanted! After, we went to Fernando's home in the delta for an amazing dinner. Highly recommended, but call ahead because I think this company will start filling up fast.

We were a little hesitant about the amount the trip cost compared to other boat options but after being on the boat and seeing how their little boats had access to all the small little water ways the big boats didn't... as well as their knowledge of the area we were so happy to have decided to go with Safi Delta!!! It was a beautiful day and super peaceful JUST what we needed after the polluted, busy streets of Buenos Aires!!! Highly recommend the trip!!:-)
