Review of Luxe Lounge

Luxe Lounge
Ranked #10 of 17 things to do in Maricopa
Attraction details
Reviewed January 30, 2014

When this location opened last year, it was better than average for the Town of Maricopa. During the past year, my Wife and I have dined here several times and noticed a general decline. For the 2013 Holiday Season, our family-all aged above 28-- dined here again and discussed our disappointments.

Last year, there was nothing but good reviews. As time flew by, quality and portion size was reduced. Example: last year's platter of Nachos was reduced to a smaller plate. The nachos were warmish, not hot temperature wise. The rest of the meal, burgers & chicken were just ok. All depends on your opinion, for me Maricopa has little to offer in the halfway decent restaurants grouping. We are sad to see down grades to the Luxe Lounge and the 347 Grill. Time to bypass the restaurants. Now, how can they screw up the movies?

We went for their Taco Tuesday (or was it Thursday) special. We went at about 5pm, and there was a bartender and one server. There were only 3 groups of people in the whole lounge.

The tacos were unique. I've never had a "street taco" with ground beef and bagged salad mixing on it (the lettuce, cabbage and carrot stuff you get in the grocery store).

The place is full of TV monitors. They were all tuned to music videos, preseason football, golf and some rerun of a 1990s LA Lakers/Detroit Pistons championship game. Apparently they haven't heard of Baseball at this place.

The location is nice, but it's not for us. A little too industrial, and once again, they fall victim to that facility's reliance on frozen processed foods.

We saw a movie and then dined here on Saturday February 09, 2013. Although this is a great place, the management did not THINK when booking a photo shoot on a Saturday night. They locked up too many of their servers for this photo shoot. That prevented the servers from serving the customers. Many customers who were waiting just left, whether they ordered food or not. We witnessed many food items arriving just after people left. What a waste but this appeared to be a one time photo event--we hope! Just poor planning ending with customers walking out with a bad experience. Due to that photo shoot and slow service, my rating level is a 3. I feel that without a photo shoot, the rating would be higher.

Our experience: We were in no rush, so we were not under any time limit. Upon entry, it's verified that you're at least 21 years old. Great since many parents just let their kids run all over the place! Back in the day when our kids were young, we did not allow them to run wild. But times have changed! If you're playing pool or throwing darts, the last thing you need is someone's kid running under your feet.

After your entry, you must find a table and sit as the servers will find you. There are many things to do within this Lounge-nice big bar area, pool tables, darts and several other things. Because of the photo shoot, it took about 10+ minutes one of the few working servers to find us. We ordered drinks and upon their arrival, we ordered our meal. My wife and I both decided to try the Tuscan Chicken as it sounded great. It arrived very hot-temperature wise-which is always great. Basically the meal was good. When we finished it took some time--15+ minutes-- to get the check due to the photo shoot with a low level of working servers. When our dishes were cleared, we asked for our waitress to appear with our check. The cost for two Tuscan Chicken items, one large fat tire beer and one glass of wine was $38.80 + tip. We felt that was within reason for the quality of food and drinks.

TIP: If you're going to see a movie or have reserved a bowling lane, just let the waitress/waiter know your time is short. They will advise you if they can accommodate your time frame. We will return for another dinning experience shortly.
