With the huge lack of restaurant choices in Maricopa, we were sure hoping Great Wall would be a new favorite - and were disappointed to learn it will not be.
Ambience/Décor. There really is none to speak of. We thought the table next to us had something spilled on the floor, but it turned out the concrete floor was just strained. Instead of soft Chinese music, there was a TV in the corner tuned to, I think, a news station? Our booth was also very uncomfortable.
Service. Was actually very good! The young waiter did not speak much English, but was very attentive and hospitable as was the waitress.
Food. Oddly all of the lunch specials were $5.95 (yes even the shrimp) and include a choice of soup and an eggroll. We both had the Hot & Sour soup (4 stars) and thought it had tons of flavor with a good spicy-heat (the way we like it!). The eggrolls were good, but nothing exceptional (3 stars). The wife's Kung Pao chicken had a lot of chicken but was excessively sweet and gloppy (2 stars). My Chicken Curry had a decent curry flavor, but needed more oomph (2 1/2 stars).
Overall, I think the Great Wall falls into an all too familiar theme for Chinese restaurants: a HUGE menu of options, with most not being that good. My recommendation would be to pare the menu down by 50% and concentrate on doing those dishes well
