“Bad Experience”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

On a recent trip to Southwest AZ we decided to check out the Harrah's Ak-chin hotel & casino. Being a Total Rewards member we thought we would visit and get a room for the night. Since we did not plan this stop ahead of time we had to go to the Total Rewards counter and get new cards, the service was less than friendly. When we tried to get a room we were told that they were full. We decided to play for a while before moving on, the play was terrible the facility is over crowded and the air filtration is not friendly to non smokers. The detour from Phoenix was definitely not worth the extra time and miles it cost. They also had a very deceiving promotion going on while we were there and Harrah's main office will be hearing about it. Total disappointment with a Harrah's property.

“Better than expected”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

Didn't like the dinner buffet. Our room was huge. Parking was difficult unless you valet. Better signage would be nice. Casino is mostly two cents a credit. Good housekeeping and a very nice pool area.

“Too Smoky (Warning: NOT Non-Smoking)”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

This casino was listed by USA Today as SmokeFree, which was NOT true. Harrah's only had a small non-smoking area (still open to the main casino) with about 40 Slot machines. Sorry, but that was NOT acceptable to us. Eventhough we drove 30 miles from Phoenix, we left right away.
We felt really bad for the employees stuck in the Players Club, who were Coughing and Hacking away. Save yourselves the from the second hand smoke folks ... TWO THUMBS DOWN.

“Attention Harrah’s AK-Chin Casino Customers!”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

If you are a Harrah’s Diamond card holder, planning a visit to the Harrah’s AK-Chin Casino diamond lounge. You should consider going someplace else. Because, the AK-Chin Casino management has apparently decided that there are too many diamond card holders visiting the diamond lounge. The AK-Chin Casino management’s has initiated a policy that severely limits access by diamond card holders to eight visits and if you exceed your allotted visits you are required to pay an additional fee of $40.00 per visit.
Additionally, the AK-Chin Casino diamond lounge beverage manager, Nathan Kinstlinger is enforcing the following punitive draconian rules in response to the numerous complaints concerning this policy.
1. Do not leave your table unattended to join in promotions outside the diamond lounge.
2. All tables left unattended will be cleared for another guest.
3. You will need to place yourself back on the waiting list when you return.
These rules also apparently not only apply to promotions but also trips to the bathroom and going out of the lounge to smoke. Additionally a diamond card holder is not allowed to leave the table to visit with someone else in the lounge he/she must stay seated at the assigned table at all times.
However, the casino management continues to solicit customers to become diamond card holders. This indicates that the management at the AK-Chin Casino only wants customers to spend their money there without them being able to fully utilize all of the earned benefits of a diamond card holder.

“Too little payout”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

Nice variety of machines but they were very tight with payouts. Floor employees very helpful and even cheerful, so that made losing a little easier!
