“5 days of being looked after well!”

My wife and I took our first break for 10 years in November and after looking on line choose Rooneys.
Although check in is officially 3pm, we got our room at 09.30 am after a great cup of coffee and cake after we arrived. Front desk was great, arranging day trips, tips on what to see and great authentic eating reccomendations.
The free tango lesson was a kick (even though I dont like dancing) my wife loved it.
The morning of a trip to Uruguay a breakfast was prepared even though it was before the official time for breakfast.
Rooms were good area good and alive you got the feeling you were in a live city.
Only small negative point was I had to book through a booking site because their web site would not accept my credit card and because of that the airport hotel transfer was nnot free.
Overall would fully reccomend.

I feel kinda like a sucker for getting taken in by the AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL photos of this hotel. It's basically like a better-than-average hostel furnished to the taste of Marie Antoinette.

It would maybe be more charming if it were not so ludicrously expensive for what you're getting. I paid $200 for one night in a supposedly upgraded room... but it was just a small bedroom with a double bed and a 20-year old tv on a rickety dresser with a window overlooking a shaft. And it's on a creepy floor of an even creepier building...you have to buzz to get OUT of the iron doors to the street. The rooms are beautifully furnished but are very run down and shabby -- cleanish but with stained tiles, graying walls, etc.

Also, it's on (in my opinion) an unappealing side street in Centre...not a lot of ambiance. Kind of like if you stayed at a hotel in the west dirty 30s in midtown. This just seemed off when there are a million cute, cheap, boutique hotels in Palermo. I would not stay here unless you get a really, really amazing deal and aren't looking for much more than that.

Stayed here after our flight to Trelew was cancelled and we had another 2 nights in BA. Staff are excellent - picked us up from the airport, arranged our trip to Uruguay and could not do more to help. Free tango lesson was good fun. Location is pretty good. Rooms are vintage but everything was in good working order and as you enter the front door, you feel like you're taking a step back in time which is a pleasant change to the normal characterless hotels you see today. Downsides to the hotel - no internet unless you have your own computer and no real amenities to speak of. However, if something different and excellent staff are what you want, well worth booking in here. Overall 4.5 stars.

Oddly located solely on the third floor of a nondescript building, Rooney's has a lot of appealing things -- comfortable and clean rooms, a friendly and helpful staff, a fine breakfast, and free tango lessons. The snowy TV reception, on all channels, is a little distracting. And the bathrooms need serious updating, and it takes quite a while to get some hot water. Overall, it's a fine place to stay in a convenient location.

Rooney's was awesome. the entire staff was super friendly and the hotel was very clean and well cared for. My wife and i had one room and her brother had another and we were all impressed. it is an older building and hotel but look to have been recently renovated. everything worked great. the bathroom was huge and clean and everything workedt. the bed was super comfy. had a nice little balcony. if you want a modern Holiday in, this aint it. But it was a romantic and period little hotel. there is a nice little breakfast nook where they serve a light breakfast. They also have a little bar area which was perfect for sharing a glass of wine with other travelers at the end of a long Buenos Aires day before a nap and back at the night.
the location is perfect to explore all the neighborhoods of the city. the area it self is busy and super safe and has plenty of places to eat and shop but it is so close we were able to walk to Palermo, San Telmo and Recoletta although it was a good stroll with Recoleta being the farthest, about a 45 minute walk. We loved this place. we stayed at 4 hotels total during our trip in Argentina and Uruguay. some were newer and more modern 1 was not but this was are favorite place.

Room Tip: spluge the extra few bucks for the larger room if there are two of you. my brother-in-laws was kille...

We had a great time at Rooney's. Nice place, excellent breakfast, great central location. We liked the vintage feel of the place. And the staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall, excellent.

Room Tip: We went for the Superior room and asked for balcony. A good choice.

My friend and I decided to travel to Buenos Aires to get a first taste of South America. As we both wanted to see a lot but had little time to organise ourselves, we decided on Rooney's as the hotel offers a 6 day program which includes all tours and most meals.
We had a wonderful time , saw lots of stuff and did not have to worry about any arrangements. The hotel is lovely, the staff very friendly, all is clean and the breakfast was lovely. We came back from the trip relaxed and refreshed, loving Buenos Aires. Would stay there again if I went back.
