“Excellent find in an amazing city”

One of most relaxing hotels I have stayed in. Truly first class and attentive service made us feel totally at home in accommodation that typified all the best of Argentina. The location is also special in the Soho of BA great restaurants, bars and shops. If you tire of the hustle and bustle of the city this is total tranquility .cannot recommend it too highly. This was the start of a round the world trip and it was perfect.

Recently, my husband, daughter and I visited our younger daughter who has been studying in BA. We waffled on where to stay as BA is such a large city. Thankfully, we chose the Legado Mitico. It is a gem of a hotel and an oasis from the big city. Unassuming from the outside one walks into tastefully decorated hotel with the soft vibes of Argentinian music and friendly hotel staff to welcome you. It is a small hotel (15 rooms) where one feels as though they are staying in someone's beautiful home. All the rooms are lovely, each named after a famous Argentine. We stayed in Evita Peron's room. There are different room categories and the basic difference is the room size. The hotel offers a nice full breakfast and the staff is always willing to get you whatever you need. They recommended some great restaurants...two in particular were great...Cabernet and Cluny...both a short walk away.
We also stayed at their sister hotel in Salta for a night. Again, another winner.

Great room, great service, exceptional all around. We had the Che room on the fourth floor, very quiet and private. Will stay there again.

My boyfriend and I recently spent a few nights at Legado Mitico on a whistlestop visit to Buenos Aires. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The service was impeccably polite and helpful, but unobtrusive. Small touches such as the complimentary cappucino on arrival and the complimentary glass of wine the following night; seamless arrangements for our transportation to the airport; efficiency with booking restaurants, etc, all contributed to a general feeling that we were being very well looked after.

Our room was tasteful and old-fashioned, and a welcome change from yet another generic, could-be-anywhere chain suite. The bathroom was a good size and spotlessly clean, with a powerful shower.

We paid USD 240 per night (plus tax) - clearly this is not a budget hotel, but we found the rate to be very reasonable for the quality of accommodation and service. (In New York or a European capital city I would have expected to pay upwards of USD 500 for an equivalent.)

The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood which is about a 20 minute cab ride from the centre of BA. Cabs are cheap so this isn't a problem and we were actually pleased to be based away from the hustle and bustle. In any event, lots of the city's most popular restaurants and bars are (literally) around the corner in the same neighbourhood, so in the evenings we found we were perfectly located. We used cabs to get to and from the major sightseeing spots during the days, but never paid more than about US$15 per journey, - often significantly less.

I would give Legado Mitico the highest possible recommendations on all counts - we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else on a return visit to Buenos Aires.

We stayed at Legado Mitico for three nights at the start of our three week tour of Argentina and it was an excellent welcome to a beautiful country.

I was a bit trepidacious on arrival as we rumbled through the empty streets of Palermo Vieja...and cruised to a stop beside a graffitied old 2cv... We had arrived very early on Good Friday. But there is definite comfortable glamour behind the dark wood doors - with imposing doorman in 24 hr attendance.

The neighbourhood blossoms after siesta and the hotel is surrounded with chic boutiques, Boho bars and restaurants and was - contrary to first impressions - quite safe enough for me to have a solo twig light stroll while the boyfriend lounged in the bath on night one.

The hotel itself; we stayed in the el escritor room, named for Jorge luis Borges, which was beautifully decorated, balcony overlooking the cobbled tree lined street, spacious and cool. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the bathroom was roomy and chic.

One tiny thing was that a hook in the bathroom was hanging out of the wall precariously and unfortunately the jacuzzi system in the bath didn't seem to work (or we were too dumb to work out how to work it) but these were small trifles.

The clincher for me were the little touches that came from the excellent service - Matius' wonderful email support and travel advice pre and during booking, the weather report under the door every morning, booking the gala tango show (well worth it), free wifi, little homemade cheeze nibbles with our ice cold wine in the library, and, oh joy, an Easter egg left on the bed for us when we returned post dinner Easter saturday. Every member of staff was smiling and kind and helpful. This gives this classically chic and highly tasteful hotel a warm welcoming edge over many of it's rivals.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Take your swimmers, there's a jacuzzi pool

Our first visit to Argentina started at the Legado Mitico, a delightful small hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The clean comfortable rooms each had an individual Buenos Aires decorative theme and had all the ameneties you could want. Breakfast was excellent and the location close by Ave. Armenia was ideal for the shops and for enjoying the cafe culture of the area. There were excellent restaurants in the safe neibourhood that were within an easy walk. It was some distance from the tourist attractions of La Recoleta, La Bocca and San Telmo but these were within easy reach by taxi and the easy relaxed atmosphere of the area made it a joy to get back to in the evening.
