Food is OK for a prime tourist spot. Prices are a bit higher if you sit outside. Hard to find much under 500 pesos for lunch tho some meals include drink and coffee. Check economical lunch special on blackboard outside front door. Waiters are reasonably attentive when not peak hours.

Worth visiting just to see the statue of Borges and his writer friend. Food is OK, do not expect much.

We visited the famous Cemetery Recoleta and Iglesia Nuestra one of the morning of our visit to Buenos Aires. We wanted to take a brea,k and have a coffee/drink. Just across the Cemetery and Iglesia Nuestra, at the corner of Av. Pres. Manuel Quintana 596, we found the Cafe la Biela. We found a table on the outside and had a good rest with good service. We also went into the Cafe for a bathroom break and found the interior quite amazing. Only when we were back at the hotel, we found out that this cafe is a landmark in Buenos Aires. For a good reason!!! Highly recommend.

This is like stepping back in time here at this historic cafe. Service is amazing especially considering all the tables. There’s a ton indoors and out. Had the steak and tomato sandwich and added avocado. Tons of food. Sandwich was huge. Fresh bread. Very tasty. It’s right by Recoleta cemetery. Prices are fair not overpriced. What a great place to sit back and relax. Credit cards accepted. Full menu. Highly recommend.

Had an early dinner here with a lomo sandwich and a veal escalope, both nicely done and not salty. The fries were also great, but the best part is the professional older waiters. Very attentive, willing to help without being pushy. My second visit in ten years, but always a good bet.
