Great service and food. Prices are reasonable for quality of food. Only con was that the tables were way too close to each other so there was some chair clashing between tables..

From the moment you arrive you feel you are somewhere special. Very chic decor (lots of exposed brickwork), quiet, attentive but un fussy service and excellent cuisine this is a really classy restaurant. We we're celebrating the end of a stay with family in Buenos Aires and wanted to enjoy a special meal. My brother in law and his wife ordered off -menu, which created no problems. the food was exquisite, the wine list extensive, and the ambience exactly what we were looking for. We are quite late, but never felt rushed, indeed, even though we left at 2.00 am we were not the last to leave. The restaurant is a bit out of the centre, but for quality, atmosphere and value for money it was better than more expensive more showy restaurants we visited in the City Centre.

You don´t have to leave Buenos Aires without going to La Rosa Negra. It will be the occasion to know San Isidro and to have very good beef very well cooked and other meals based in fish.
The atmosphere is very elegant and you will be served like in very good european restaurants, with profesional waiters.

Based on a personal recommendation and their high rating by the tripadvisor writers I ate here during a recent trip to Buenos Aries. When we arrived at the restaurant and looked at the menu we saw two items that interested us, one being a filet mignon and another more expensive item "Kobe beef steak" for two. One of us ordered the filet and the other two the Kobe beef steak. When we ordered the Kobe beef steak the waiter told us they were out of that item, but returned shortly to say that they did have some left after all. I eaten real Kobe beef steak in Asia and therefore know how wonderfully tender it is and I've also eaten in several French Michelin 3 star restaurants. When it arrived it was so tough that we could barely cut it and chewed for ever before we could sallow it. When we complained about how tough it was the waiter indignantly told us that it was Argentine Kobe beef and therefore not anything like Asian Kobe beef and he was sorry we didn't like it> But he made no mention of them doing anything about it. I will say that the person that had the filet did share some with us unlucky two, and it was very good. Overall the food was OK, not nearly as good as Ruth Chris but better than western Sizzlin. However, any place that will lie to you and then try to make you feel foolish for complaining deserves the worst that I can say about them.

We were 2 couples, and all dishes we tried were really exceptionally well made, not Michelin level, but very yummy all, including spectacular deserts.

The only real problem was with the winelist, they had the wines I wanted but not in the vitages that the card said, so instead of 2008, you get a 2009, and no 2010, but a 2011, and at the same prices which was listed for the older vintages... when I pointed this out, afer the third choice of wine still was not the vintage mentioned in the card, his only comment was that well we need to update our winelist... yes basically there is not any wines anymore which correspond to that list.

We choose a nice Rutini Sauterne for our desert, unfortuantely it only arrived towards the end of us consuming the desert, so really pointless..

So great food, make sure you get the vintage you want and pay for, and they don´t charge you the same for a younger vintage, and I do hope you have better luck with your waiter than we had.
