“Worth the wait”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

A great Armenian-Argentinian restaurant, popular with the locals, few tourists. The food is amazing and worth the (very) long queue - up to 1:30 on weekends.

“Decent reasonably priced middle-eastern”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

The best thing about Sarkis is definitely the food. The relationship of price to quality is good too. Portion sizes are definitely big so you can share plates. We ordered hummus, babaganoush, tabouleh and a stuffed red pepper dish to share between two and it was PLENTY of food. Everything very very tasty. Just don't go there expecting an attractive restaurant or friendly service. The place itself is fairly grubby and the service is efficient but not polished. With that in mind its still worth going as the food is so good.

“Kept coming back”
Reviewed July 26, 2014 via mobile

I was in the area for a month and kept coming back despite the long waiting line to get in but it is so worth it once inside.
A lot of good courses on the menu especially my favorite which was the lamb in yogurt sauce...sooooo good.
Positves-english menue and a few english speaking waiters.
The prices were super reasonable for how good the food was.
Great selection of food and always left super full.
Negaitives-just the wait to get inside.
When/if I return to BA I'm for sure coming back.
Just Awesome!

“Good food, horrible service”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

Sarkis is one of those places that was able to find the perfect recipe for having the room full all the time: great food + great pricing. Up until recently that was all it was, until a new item was added to the equation, horrible service. If you can bare to be talked at like if you're stupid for the benefit of eating really good armenian food, this is the place for you.

“A great find”
Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

Looking for a restaurant that was good for vegetarians I chanced upon Sarkis. When looking to see where it was we were advised by a charming local to arrive by 7.45pm at the latest as it was very popular.

Tip, definitely arrive early, it opens at 8pm. You need to make sure you put your name on the list when the doors open, do not just queue up. Cash only. We ordered 3 starters (1/2 portions), 1 main and 1 salad (husband failed to resist pudding). This was plenty for us. The atmosphere was buzzing, no idea when the queue to get in goes down, it was bigger when we left than on arrival. Service was excellent, good level of English plus English menu. Make sure you keep the Argentinian menu as that has the prices on, which are very reasonable. Good tasty, plenty of it and despite the people waiting we certainly did not feel rushed.
A good, fun, enjoyable evening.
