The Pink House, or Casa Rosada, is the heart of the government in Buenos Aires. Walking through the park next to it and seeing the protestors is worth the trip. Groups come here on a regular basis to voice their complaints and it's very interesting to see what and how they state their views. The Pink House is very pretty when lit up at night, but the lights were purple, not pink, the night we drove by. There is also a beautiful cathedral next to the park and house, which was the home of the current Pope. Lots of history in a small area!

Look for guided visit. You will walk through the historic balcony where Juan Perón, Evita and most of the Argentinean presidents addressed the crowd . You will have a great view of the whole "Plaza de Mayo".

The day we were here the pink house was surrounded by a fence and there was no access to the building. We were only able to view the house from a distance.

The pink house is open for tourists on weekends only. In front of the pink house you have the plaza de mayo. Everything is walking distance

Read about the history which is probably more interesting than the building. Also there are often protests and police out front, but everything was totally safe in my opinion.
