This small B&B is perfectly situated within Palermo Soho in Buenos Aires. Just within walking distance to nice cafés, bars, shops & nightlife.
It offers 4 very nice and spotless rooms (3 w/ shared bathroom, one beeing a suite).
The owners Hernan & Jimena live on site which adds a great homey touch to the place.
They both are very helpful and provide all the information you need on the area.
If you book in advance ask for a taxi pick-up from the Airport and Hernan will take care of it ;)
The breakfast is expectional: great bread selection, pastries, fruits, smoothie etc.
I stayed at Gorriti 4290 for about 1,5 weeks and it felt like home!

We could not have asked for a more wonderful four nights in Buenos Aires. As traveling students we were in search of a clean, quiet and well priced place to stay while in BA. Gorriti proved to be exactly that. Our biggest concern in choosing a BandB/hostel was cleanliness. The bathroom mats were cleaned and changed daily, the rooms mopped and swept, the linens were super soft and clean too. In short, I really wouldn't have had many reservations about eating off of the floor. The mattresses were new and extremely comfortable. The B and B had a lovely style, a mix of antique and modern--simply beautiful. Most importantly, the owner, Hernan, was our greatest resource. Not only did he greet us enthusiastically each morning at breakfast, but he shared with us his impeccable taste for local dining options. His recommendations are to be trusted--they were the best meals we ate in the whole month we've been in Argentina. The only thing I could imagine that might bug some people is that there was no large mirror in the bedroom. It didn't bother us though. In sum, I'd have no reservations about recommending this place to any friends or family who stay in the city. Will definitely return!

We stayed with Hernan and Jimena at the start of a two month stay in Buenos Aires and they were a wonderful introduction to the city. Hernan dutifully answered all of our questions, let us practice our broken Spanish, and gave us lots of helpful tips to navigate the city.

The rooms are nothing fancy, but they are very clean and pleasant. And the breakfast is delicious!

Definitely see if you can stay with Hernan at Gorriti 4290 if you'd like to feel at home in BA!

Room Tip: The downstairs room (where we stayed) is a bit small if you have a lot of luggage (like we did)!

Having an intimate place to stay that is run with a personal style is priceless when you visit a big city. Gorriti 4290 is such a place in Buenos Aires. Of course, it is no hotel (as suggested in some guide books) but a great B&B with four nice rooms and top breakfast.

Finding Gorriti 4290 is not so easy as there are no signs, so you have to trust the number. There is a warm welcome in the courtyard and you will be shown the rooms that are available. The three rooms upstairs are really nice, the one downstairs is too small and a too noisy for my taste. If you travel as a couple, take the large room with a huge private bathroom with shower and tub.

Hernan is most helpful when it comes to organizing parts of your onward journey, e.g. bus tickets, flights, bus transfers, taxi, and he has special restaurant tips. There is no real lounge area but Hernan (the host) and his family are okay for guests to use their living area. Breakfast is also served there and it was one of the best brekkis I had during my 5 weeks in Argentina!

Room Tip: The large room with private bath is worth the extra Pesos :-) The small room on the ground floor was...

I stayed here at the start of 7 weeks stay in BA. I had originally a booked in for 3 nights as had hoped to find an apartment quicker then I did, I ended up staying a week, and the owner kindly reduced the rate for my extended rate. Hernan the owner is extremely helpful with information, maps and advice on transport. The hotel location is 10 minute walk from Palermo Soho with all the cafes and bars, and is really well connected or buses. The breakfast was good and bad.... Good in that it was a lot, and all very tasty pastries.... Bad in that I could hardly do my jeans up when I left! This is not a modern hotel, but has the charm and character of staying with a family. Yes there is noise from the street... Welcome to BA. It was quiet compared to where I'm staying now! If I'm back in Baires at the end of my travels I will be sure to return!

This is an old property in a good neighbourhood of BA.
The owners are lovely and welcoming and have a great dog!
Our room was small but clean. Work is needed on the house...no base to wardrobes, mouldy shower curtain and window in shared bathroom but we enjoyed the authentic, rustic feel of the place.
Good location as in walking distance to metro and fashionable neighbourhood of palermo.
Breakfast basic but good...overall excellent for the price.
