As an empanada enthuasist, it isn't uncommon for me to eat a dozen in a sitting. Of the hundreds empanadas I've tried in Argentina and abroad, my favorites by far come from 1810 Cocina. The humita empanada here is magical as is the carne picante. Also incredible, warming and comforting is the pastel de granja. The menu is short, but everything on is excellent and at very affordable prices. Additionally, the menu is in English and Spanish and staff are patient.

I have traveled for business to Buenos Aires several times now and I always make a stop at 1810 a must. The service is great and food is spectacular. It’s a low key cash only restaurant but extremely affordable and great value.

I have tried almost all of their empanadas and the tamales. The best part is the selection of wines at the best prices in town in addition to the arroz con leche!

1810 is definitely a wonderful addition to try local Argentinian and Peruvian food.

Oooh, these empanadas are the best I’ve had in Buenos Aires. Delicate wraps of luscious, elegant goodness. Try the humita! Perfecto

Although a (small) chain restaurant the meal was tasty and satisfying. My wife had empanadas and judged them a hit. I opted for the chicken and sweet pumpkin ramekin dish pie, which was good, although a bit salty for my liking, but still enjoyed. The meal was accompanied by fresh bread and a mid range bottle of wine which was good value.
The service was good if not a little brisk and it was obvious that the place was the choice of locals.
Quite liked the rustic ambience.
In short, good honest food at reasonable prices.

Serves a variety of regional stew like or casserole dishes. Best part was that they have a sampler option where you get three reasonably sized examples, which we found when combined with a couple of empanadas was a adequate serving for two, and a good opportunity to taste unique Argentine comfort food. This is a nice place with interesting rustic décor.
