Scary place, but in lonely planet so figured it was actually ok.
Cut myself on rust in bathroom, had to go to hospital for tetanus shot.
Scared to go back alone even to get my things, much less sleep there. door always open so anyone can walk in. Lights not on in the lobby. No way to talk to owner outside on the street, must climb all the way up stairs to dark lobby with no lights.
Finally went back to get my things. Owner demanded 100 USD (360 pesos) from me (i had already paid for the room which cost 17 USD), threatened to beat me up if I didn´t pay (and made punching/beating gestures) and would not let me out. Threatened to call the police. Normally I would have wanted the poilce to come, so seemed he had some deal with police.
I didn´t have 100 USD so I had to offer him all my things. He took all the cash I had (60 USD). He also had stolen many things--with and without value (i.e. nescafe)--from my bag.More
