Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt Buenos Aires

Stayed here for four nights as part of a large group. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough and find it hard to believe it's only ranked 15 in BA! The architecture of the old palace is stunning, the terrace is fantastic and my room (in the new tower) was spacious and comfortable without being over the top. The location in Ricoletto is brilliant for shopping and sightseeing.

The best thing about the hotel was the service, with the staff willing to bend over backwards to help. I have been surprised by some of the negative comments here about the staff as I thought they made our stay. If anything I thought they came to service the room TOO much with me having to hang the Do Not Disturb sign in the afternoon!

Fantastic stay, highly recommend and definitely have a spa treatment..amazing!

Stayed at the Palacio Duhao -- Park Hyatt for three nights on a business trip. This is a world class five star hotel. The hotel has two parts: the beautifully restored Palacio Duhao, a great example of Belle Epoque architecture, and the modern tower at the opposite end of the interior garden. The juxtaposition of old and new has been carefully executed. The interior garden has a series of terraces running from one building to the other, and is a great place to have dinner or a drink on a nice evening.

My room in the modern tower was spacious and very pleasant. The WiFi was reliable and surprisingly fast for hotel internet. The gym, while a bit on the small side, had everything that you would need. The equipment is modern and well maintained. I can't speak to the pool, since it was under renovation while I was there, but I'm sure it will be very nice once it's done.

The staff was courteous and professional throughout. The level of English was truly exceptional -- they must go to considerable lengths to find people who have both the service skills and the language skills to work in this hotel.

The food was very good and there are several options for dining in the hotel. The stand-up wine and cheese bar is an interesting touch and quite elegant. I dined with some colleagues on the garden patio one evening and it was great. The Oak Bar is a nice place for a drink.

I've stayed at two other hotels in Buenos Aires, and it's hard to imagine that there's a nicer hotel than this in the city, and possibly in all of South America. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: While I didn't see any of the rooms in the palace part of the hotel, the rooms in the tower are...

The hotel is on par with the very best in the world. Great service. Lovely property in a wonderful section of town. Concierge was helpful and gracious in arranging both tours and restaurants (we ate really well, which is hard not to do in BA in high end and empanadas places). The rooms are modern and clean. Quite lovely. The food, morning, and afternoon, was plentiful, good selection and excellent. Nice presentation and great views of the property. This is a hotel I will book again without a thought.

Room Tip: Higher floor facing courtyard for great view.

The hotel was beautifully designed, both the old palace and the new tower. The rooms are large and the staff is courteous, professional and make everything work so well. The restaurants are excellent and the choices are delicious. This is the definition of a 5 star hotel.

I stayed here for 3 nights for work... It took a while to get used to it. It's very quiet.

This hotel is an actual palace. There are two buildings connected by an art gallery that houses Latin American artists. The food here is amazing. It's a bit pricey but its in line with local prices. The fitness room is small but has enough equipment to get a good work out. The spa is also good with a 25m pool. I had it to myself every time I went.

The staff here are extremely friendly and once you get used to the silence, it's a really lovely place to be with a very relaxed pace. The oak bar is probably the caveat... Busy and lively.

The rooms are decent too, plenty of storage and nicely laid out with a very deep bath. There's some nice little touches, like a special light for finding the toilet in the dark and little tokens left every night like plums and apples.

The toiletries are a little old ladyish. They smelt like classy old ladies... Not for me (the old bit not the classy bit) I'm a classy broad, but have a way to go before I aim to smell like old ladies. It's not unpleasant just not very fresh. I'm not explaining myself very well, but I suppose I mean take your own toiletries or you'll smell old, a little spicy.

Lovely place though so pack your shampoo and shower gel and head over.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 5th floor have a little outdoor space

It was our first trip to Argentina and the Hyatt proved to be a great starting point for us before seeing the rest of the country.
All aspects of the hotel, the service, the rooms, the restaurants and the spa are top notch.
The concierge service was especially helpful in suggesting restaurants and various itineraries.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting B.A.

Room Tip: The hotel has two separate buildings. One is the old palace and the newer tower building. Both buil...

Far from cheap (try using Hyatt points!), this is a truly spectacular hotel in an excellent location. The main public areas are in a beautifully restored mansion while the rooms are in a stunning tower with beautiful gardens, terraces, etc in between. Located on one of the best streets in Recoletto, only the Alvear Palace could come close and we did not stay there.

Room Tip: Corner rooms in the tower are the best, but are likely an upgrade. Business in BA is a bit slow with...
