“Second time in Vista Sol, still a good option in Buenos Aires”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

Stayed in Vista Sol for 3 nights and (again) enjoyed it very much. We got an executive room with lots of space for the standard rate. Facilities continued to be well maintained, breakfast has a little bit less offer that in my first visit (in 2010) but was still yummy . Lobby, bar and gym are the better places in this very well located hotel. If you book in advance you would be able to pay really fantastic rates. Vista Sol is still my option in B.Aires.

Stayed here for a week and a half in July. We really enjoyed the central location. It is in an urban spot, which we liked, and could walk everywhere, and easy access to buses.
The room was nice but like people have said, the design wasn't always the most functional - such as glass sliding doors for the bathroom. We also had some problems, first with noise from the elevator, then the heater not working. We actually were moved 3 times to 4 different rooms, but the staff was accommodating and made the moves easy (on only one instance did they not know English). I guess the overall impression of the hotel and the city has left a favorable imprint in my mind. Also, the breakfasts were great with a nice selection. The rooms still didnt have wifi when I was there, and I had to use a cable the hotel provided.
Despite being on a busy street, it was quiet. We got a good deal on a Hotwire secret special, so the flaws seemed trivial, but the setting wonderful.

Room Tip: If you want an urban setting in the center of everything, this is a great spot.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your pleasant comment.

We´re glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that you appreciated our staff and service.

We are a design hotel so our concept is unique.

Wifi is only available in public areas at the moment, but anytime soon we will be able to extend it to all the rooms.

We hope to receive you again soon in the hotel.

Best regards,

Alfredo Picasso

The hotel is superficially pretty, but under the surface its just ok. We had problems with our doors, the rooms were a bit small, and could have been better maintained. I would recommend this hotel for a night or two if you are traveling on business, but not on holiday. We had too much stuff, for their small modernist rooms. Internet requires a cable, and the room had a slight odor without the AC on. If you really like modern designs, sure go ahead stay here, but families and holiday travelers can find beter accommodations in BA.

Rude and unhelpful staff. Room was unclean and weren't interested in doing anything about it when we complained.
Then to top it off they double charged us for the room.
That's was 6 weeks ago and we still haven't got a refund.
Avoid like the plague

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback which certainly helps us to monitor and improve our service.
I was disappointed to read that the hotel did not match your expectations. This is certainly not indicative of the feedback we usually receive from our guests.
I have shared your comments with the Head Housekeeper who join me in apologising for the shortfalls you received. I do hope you will give us another opportunity by returning back to the hotel to experience our true level of service.

Best regards,

Alfredo Picasso

This hotel is located very close to the main shopping street and a lot of the essential sightseeing monuments. The rooms we stayed in were clean and with the amenities you would need (wifi, minibar, desk etc.), all though it was a bit worn and the safe in our second room didn’t work. The room and bathroom was not particularly spacious but could fit our two big suitcases without too much trouble. The breakfast was plentiful and with a wide range of bread, cheese, cold cuts, yoghurt, a couple of hot dishes etc.

Overall it was a good stay however there is a major problem with rooms with connecting doors (locked off course). We had to change our room after two nights since we literally could hear every single sound in the neighbouring room. When we complained about the noise to the front desk, they recognised the problem immediately and confirmed that the problem was due to the door connecting the two rooms. The hotel was able to provide us with a new room the following day. That was all right and trouble free, but when the hotel knows that there is a problem with the rooms I would think they should fix it rather than wait to see if the costumers complain or not...

I just spent my first night at the Vista Sol and I am not looking forward to three more nights. This hotel is stylish but you'll soon realize a lot of things are done on the cheap. There is no wifi whatsoever in the rooms, something I have not encountered in years. There is free wifi in the lobby but it seems to work only some of the time. The staff tells you it's working even when you show them it is not.
The electricty works with your room key, so you'll always come back to a sauna since the AC stops running in your absence.
Note: this is the Hotwire hotel listed under 4 stars with free breakfast and free internet in the central area. My rate was US$55 plus tax.

The Vista SolBuenos Aires Hotel is located at Tucuman street,in downtown. The sreet is near Corrientes Avenue with several magazines and restaurantes. A few steps,in the right, only six blocks there is 9 de julio Avenue, the beautifulavenueof Buenos Aires and front of Tucuman Street is the Tango Portenho, an excellent house to watch a typical spectable of tango. In the hotel, the rooms are very nice. I like it.The beds were close to the floor , like Japanese stylo.
The bathroom is good with amenites.Breakfast was a mixture of cakes, fruitsand an excellent yogurt. In fact, a good hotel in the heart of Buenos Aires.
