“Good Value Option in Buenos Aires”
Reviewed June 11, 2011

I have stayed here in February/2011 with my wife and 18 months baby daughter. The hotel was going through a major reconstruction, what can be troublesome some times (they have 2 elevators and one was always closed for some reason, besides the dust at some places). However, this does not affect the rooms, neither breakfast and reception areas. The rooms are extremely roomy and have microwave and fridge (important for us with the baby), with high ceilings that my wife and daughter particularly found very nice - the crib for my daughter was prepared as requested in the reservation process. The neighborhood is not so interesting (Buenos Aires downtown), but very close to Av. 9 de Julio, Obelisco and Av. de Mayo, as well as the subway system, making it very practical. For sure there are more beautiful neighborhoods to stay in Buenos Aires, like Recoleta, but a hotel with the same level of Tribeca would be way expensive as well, turning Tribeca Apart a very good value for what it offers.

Very charming. Beautiful rooms and nice courtyard. Not in the greatest part of town for sightseeing, but safe and easy to walk to more entertaining areas.

Nice enough place, clearly a lot of money being spent on it to refurb, but the management are terrible. They will try to over-charge you for everything. Specifically I've never experienced a hotel attempting to charge elevator repair costs to the guests who happened to be in the elevator when it broke. Also - dust everywhere in the hotel and they attempt to charge you because the towels get dirty

Amateurs.

I stayed at the Tribeca while working for a few days in Buenos Aires. The rooms are great. They are HUGE. And the value for money is excellent. The bed is large and comfortable. AC works great. Nice big TV. The breakfast is alright, not bad. I stayed here for three night for 70 USD per night plus tax, but then the last three nights they were going to charge me like 165 per night over the weekend, so I am switching to the Bobo Hotel in Palermo for less money, much nicer hotel and much better neighborhood although not as central.

The negatives of the hotel: the men at the front desk never smile, greet you, say thank you or anything of the sort. So don´t expect any warm fuzzy feeling at this hotel. The shower was nice but had a very bad showerhead. The neighborhood is very central but very sketchy at night. I recommend taking a taxi to and from the hotel after 7 pm. I´ve been in tough cities but this neighborhood is not recommendable for tourists walking around late at night.

The rooms are kingsize. The beds are also and the tv has english spoken films. Disadvantage is the thin doors between the rooms. They give the option to connect rooms. You can litterly hear every sigh or whisper, tv program or whatever a married couple does in the room next door.
The breakfast is good but as in all BA the coffee taste like chlorine.

Stayed her a few nights in december, found the hotel to be great value for money. Really loved the high ceiling wide rooms. Reception didnt know much english though when asked about stuff around BA, elevator was on and off as they were renovating at the time (Dec 10) but overall a pleasant stay for that $$ price braket.

Location a big plus - close to the major attractions in Buenos Aires. Rooms are large. The flooring is wooden (not carpeted) so it felt a bit “dusty” and rugged. There is a mini-bar in the room with a substantial amount of items in it – including liquor. Advice to check every item. We had a bottle of water missing so we informed reception. The room service staff that came did not understand English so it took some time to “resolve” the issue. Our room was beside the breakfast room/area so it was a bit noisy in the morning. The room was not “soundproof”. Breakfast – good variety. There is a computer with free internet access located beside the gym. Our only issue: We had a leaking roof in the bathroom.
