Inside the church there´s this museum called claustros del pillar which shows what it was like back in the time when the recoleto monks used to inhabit that place during colonial times!

Definitely, this church provides visitors an opportunity to experience a charming encounter with colonial times. From the moment you go through its threshold you understand why local couples book their wedding date there more than a year in advance. Simplicity, good taste, and spirituality are breathed around.
As you enter, there is a little door on the left that leads to its cloisters which still have the original tiles. This adjacent , inexpensive, museum displays ceremonial artifacts and antique furniture and works of art. Do not miss the view of Recoleta Cemetery from one of its little windows.
If you are traveling with young kids, ask for the activity card. They will be given a set of tasks to fulfill along their visit to make it really enjoyable.

Cloisters still have original floor. The display of paintings and silverware are lovely. From the room upstairs you can actually see the Recoleta cemetery.

If you're going to the cemetery, it's worth dropping by this church. If you've been to any of California's missions, it will seem familiar to you. There's a small museum that doesn't charge much, offers a view of the cemetery and gives a window onto religious life in colonial times.

This church is located right next to the cemetery, is still an active church and is worth your time to visit and stay a while. Stopping in several times while I was there at various times of the day. Attending and observing mass in this church was interesting, the devotion of the people, especially the young people is impressive. They had a 10pm mass on Saturday night that was rocking, perhaps timed to catch people on their way to dinner. The views of the graveyard are impressive but only after you have spent at least an hour wandering through the actual graveyard next door.
