The tiniest room we ever had during our trips around the world ! The window was giving to a dirty
back yard wall, full of pigeon s....The pigeons were moving and crying at night.
I should advise this hotel ONLY for one night (we stayed 4 nights, and had to return 2 nights after as it was prepaid !
Read the critics about this hotel, everything is true !
If you are a Large person, don t go there, you won t be able to wash yourself in the tiny bathroom.
I felt claustrophobic as it is also very dark !

stayed here one night in one of the smaller rooms. room was nicely decorated. Breakfast is good, free wireless. Price is very reasonable taking into account that hotels are in general expensive in BA. Hotel is located in an old building in la recoleta with high ceilings. Nice lobby with art works. Friendly service. Be sure to ask for a room not facing the street since this could be quite noisy during weekdays I think.

We wanted to be int this area (Barrio Norte or Recoleta) and spotted the Art Hotel. The photos looked charming and the price was right. They charged us about $750.00 for a room for two for seven nights. We arrived late and the taxi driver was not familiar with the hotel but did find it. The front door is kept locked at all times which we found to be the practice of many small businesses in BA. There is someone on the front desk to ring you in at all hours.
We were relieved to find the staff on hte desk spoke perfect English and registration was quick.
The room was tiny with two single beds. With a desk and another small edge, we both manged to set up our laptops and the free WIFI was reliable.
The hotel is full of art and very attractive. Make sure you use the tiny service elevator at some point as it is a gem, all wood and certainly from the original building. Restoration and conversion were done well. However, since we did not go there to stay in our hotel, the biggest advantage is Location, location, location! We walked all over and the subway was four blocks away. (Note to travellers to be on your guard for pickpockets on the subway. Our camera was nicked the first day. By the time you notice something, they are gone.)
There is also a laundry across the street that has your clothes beautifully folded and washed at 6pm for $4.00 a load.
Breakfast is fine, the usual assortment of bread, hard boiled eggs, fruit, sliced meats and cheese. Leche caliente is made to request for your coffee. There is a wide screen TV showing rock videos in the breakfast room which is a little weird but OK. (Not noisy)
The only complaint we had was the somewhat casual service. We had to request shampoo a couple of times before it appeared. Directions to the tourist bus that takes you around BA getting off and on were poor and wasted a lot of our time that day. They also refused to give us change for a 100 peso note (about $20.00) when we were having a dispute with a dishonest taxi driver. I was not impressed at that point. However, they had our airport taxi ready exactly on time and in general were efficient and reasonably friendly.

Had a twin share room with was SO tiny, our beds were smaller than singles! But clean and comfortable. No fresh air and was relatively warm and AC was turned off. TV with cable. Clean bathroom with warm water and pressure. Friendly/helpful staff. Breakfast was basic and average. Nice lobby to wait if you have to re airport transfer. Walking distance to metro and few restaurants. Main attractions in Recoleta & mall nearby. However the hotel hallways were SO noisy at night. We got woken up 2/3 times at 3/4am! By other guests not even being that loud it's just the acoustics of the hotel. Although not in style of hotel maybe they should consider carpets. Great value though!

This delightful hotel reminded us of Paris! Old'fashioned lifts with sliding trellis doors took us back years. We had 2 small double rooms for single occupancy. they would have been a bit crowded for two but the beds were very very comfortable and the hotel is very well situated near the cemetery. Breakfast was fine and the staff are very helpful and allowed us to leave our luggage until we left in the evening for our next stop. Very good value.

The hotel has been nicely renovated.
We booked a small and cosy room - traveling as friends, we had twin beds and it certainly was "Small and Cosy" but I've stayed in smaller rooms, it was very clean and we were only there to sleep. Nice bedding, comfortable beds. Small bathroom and the shower stall leaked a little. We sometimes had trouble with the water temperature (blistering hot or too cold) but never asked for help with it, so I guess we didn't give the hotel a chance to improve on this.
Wifi was good and we always could connect. Staff helped with restaurant reservations. Breakfast was a range of pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt, meats and cheeses and cereal. Cute breakfast room.

We stayed here for 6 nights in August. The place is classy and they have done a great job renovating the old building. We love staying in older buildings and the room we stayed was lovely. Tastefully decorated, with high ceilings, stripped wooden doors and comfy bedding. Bathroom was small but very functional. Small leaks in shower base and loose fitting on shower, but all worked fine and was very clean. Staff were really helpful and friendly. I can see why some reviews have noted some staff who appear off hand, but everyone has their up and down moments. We were warmly welcomed, no matter the time of day. We even managed to get friendly with the lady in the breakfast area, who clearly reigned over that part of the hotel with zeal! I think some guests are just too picky in some of these reviews. If you love older hotels with 21st century touches, this is the place to go. Everything worked well, including excellent wifi everywhere. It is very close to the excellent metro in Av Santa Fe, and great for extended walking in the area. It is quiet, so we slept really well - too well. Thanks to everyone at the Art Hotel for making our stay in BA a really Gretchen one. We would definitely stay there again, superb.
