I love the interior design, I felt as if I was in Bs As in the 1920's. The ice-cream was very nice and the coffee too. Very good location in Av Corrientes, easy to find.

The place is nicely decorated and the food is of great value. However, attention, as in most parts of Argentina, tends to be a little bit unfriendly and impolite.
In our case, the meal was brought fast and was fine, but not excellent.
The place is on Corrientes next to the main attractions.

We checked out El Vesuvio because it was right next door to our hotel. There were four of us, and generally we had a great dinner.

Omelette and empanada and tarta were very tasty and a little saltier than I am used to. Omelette was firm/not runny/not overcooked; empanada was small...order more than one; I loved the tarta and shared it with my friend....who thought it later upset her stomach. Salad with palm hearts and shredded carrot was strange and not finished.

This place is popular late at night for sidewalk seating. Service is helpful and welcoming. Upstairs indoor seating also seemed available.

The place is said to be one of the oldes heladerias and chocolaterias Buenos Aires has to offer.
Founded in 1902 it has a great location on the so called Broadway of the argentine capital.
you can have a large variety of different cakes incl. a german Black Forest tart as well as many different kinds of hot chocolats.
The waiters are almost in their 55+ age but thats a big advantage for that place because they are experienced, most attentive and very charming.
