Good location in the centro with easy access to everything. The staff are so laid-back, friendly and social (probably partially due to their young zany boss: Sole), it makes guests feel like they can easily do whatever they want here. Tenser guests arriving here tend to relax, chilled people will love this already tranquil environment, and party guests can also do their thing here.
Unlike more official "party hostels", the smaller events here are more easy-going and social, and you will probably get to know people better in such an environment compared to a large mass of drunk people all swilling as much alcohol as possible before getting crammed into taxi's to be sent to some night-club. Of course this can also happen here, if you and your friends want it to! Want to bring your own alcohol into the hostel? of course! Want to stay up until 4am on the roof with your friends playing guitar? sure! the roof terrace is a nice sound-isolating area where people can continue to make noise without much bothering the earlier sleepers.
My three nights turned into two weeks, and before you know it Juan (staff) and myself had setup a weekly monday soccer game, last time attended by most guests at the hostel. That club might not continue, but it speaks highly of the freedom and involvement of most guests in this place!
Go to Buenos Aires, go to Km 0 Rock Hostel.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The Rock Hostel & Brewery is the only hostel in Argentina that brews its own beer. Guests can also attend to the brewing process as we do it in our terrace. We also have a rehearsal room which provides an exchange with argentinian musicians that come every day to practise with their bands. The Hostel was built in a 19th century lodge set in the heart of one of the top cosmopolitan destinations in Argentina and South America. The building was constructed in 1890 and features a huge private rooftop terrace, wide rooms, tall ceilings and relaxed common areas. The space was newly renovated in 2012 to be the best and Rockingest hostel in the city. Most of our rooms have Air Conditioning. We provide Argentinian Breakfast, sheets and covers, Internet and WiFi for free, TV in the Living room. In our rooms we have lockers, heaters and fun, and the best graffiti of the bands. ... more less
