“Interesting interior, good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2014

This is the sister venue of Bar El Federal, with an almost identical menu. We sampled the fish and homemade chips which were very good. The bread here which is provided as an appetiser is absolutely delicious!

“Vegetarian Platter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2014

Every time I go I have to order the vegetarian platter. They also have craft beer on tap that isn't bad. Nice little spot in the happening area of San Telmo, definitely worth the stop.

“Great traditional place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2014

A gem in San Telmo! It has a traditional decor and extensive menu. If you are really hungry, I recommend the milanesa nepolitana - it is huge! (but delicious!)

“The best café in San Telmo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014

This is – in my humble (but extremely tasteful) opinion – the best café in San Telmo. It reeks of past glories, has an agreeable upstairs section, and serves good picadas. There’s even a guy playing the piano sometimes. The area with the low ceiling can get a little stuffy on hot days, and the size of the menu is likely to induce choice paralysis; but apart from that, no trip to San Telmo – perhaps even Buenos Aires itself – would be complete without a trip to La Poesía.

“Beautiful traditional place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014

The atmosphere of La Poesía couldn't be better, the new owners (a chain of "notable" coffee places, in fact) kept everything in its place in order to keep the best of it. Food is good and service is remarkable considering that the place is usually crowded. If what you´re looking for is Buenos Aires coffee tradition, this is your place. Usually crowded of tourists, of course, specially during the night and weekends. If the weather is hot, don´t expect good a/c here.
