Hub Porteno certainly has location going for it. Just a block or so away from the most expensive hotel and shops and close to some wonderful restaurants at a fair price. The lobby is awkward and somehow feels like this building most have once been a bank or business. The room was very large with great amenities. The breakfast was only adequate. Everything is ala carte off the menu ( our rate included the breakfast) and the portions are small and only mediocre. The staff is very accommodating and tries hard to please. Just a side note: Be aware that in Buenos Aires the exchange rate for US dollars can vary from 6.5 to 9.5. Bring cash and always ask for the difference in dollars. I wish we had known this before arriving.

The Hub Porteño is a unique hotel in Buenos Aires, luxurious and charm in every aspect. The staff was welcoming and helpful . You must try the restaurant for a romantic dinner! The dishes presented on the menu had a selection from the traditional Argentinian cuisine. I really enjoyed it! The terrace is also a unique feature of this hotel, we had a great glass of Malbec in a very relaxing atmosphere!

We stayed for 2 days and the hotel was ideally located within walking distance of shops, cemetery and restaurants. Sarah gave us wonderful recommendations for our stay and send us to some great places for Tango watching and lessons. We left BA and then returned for a couple of days staying at another hotel. However she was happy when I was back to make recommendations even though I was staying somewhere else. Sign of a good hotel.

The rooms were huge, the bed comfortable and the breakfast very good. What more could you want.

We checked into many hotel choices in the Recoleta district but none seemed to fit our desires more than the distinctly reserved elegance offered on a smaller scale than Hub Porteno, located just around the corner from the Hyatt at a much more reasonable rate. The staff was, without exception, welcoming and helpful throughout our entire four day stay. The main sitting rooms on the first floor offer a place to lounge and peruse the assorted books that have been compiled on Buenos Aires and surrounding regions; afternoon refreshments were always laid out for guests. The adjoining restaurant offers a limited but adequate variety of breakfast items; we were never there for dinner but the menu appeared ample. The rooms were spacious and ours was particularly quiet with a nice large bathroom and separate area for tub and large bath. There was plenty of storage room and the location provided easy access to sites of interest. The roof top provided a lovely afternoon retreat for a board game when my son who is working in BA came to visit. I'd not realized that for many hotels in Argentina, bookings must be made by contacting the hotel directly. As I did have some questions regarding our stay, I was able to call through Skype and the staff was most accommodating to my inquiries. A most relaxing and pleasurable way to get our stay in Argentina off to a nice start.

Room Tip: Facing away from the main street affords a level of comfort and quiet I'm uncertain can be surpassed by those that overlook the courtyard/restaurant
