Impressively wide, and maybe a bigger challenge to cross than a river. Stop at the midway section to appreciate the avenue - it's really enormous.

The widest avenue in the world. You must come and see for yourself and better yet; rent a car and drive through the avenue! It is an experience you will always remember. The avenue is wide there are two traffic lights just to control traffic going in the same direction. Pedestrians have to stop midway at a platform. It is impossible to cross the avenue in one light change. Here in the center; as you look in every direction there is traffic coming and going and always a protest. The Protest can tie up traffic as they waive their flags and parade around!

This is an impressive wide street. During weekdays it is not so impressive, there are too many vehicles moving around. But, over weekends with the streets more empty you really get the idea of just how wide this street is. When it is quieter over weekends you can also better appreciate the obelisks and gardens in thee middle of the street.

9 Julio is a real challenge to cross even with traffic lights. There are so many lanes used by motorists as raceways. It is virtually impossible to cross the entire avenue in one light change (unless you run).
