This tango show is set in the heart of a little area of the city dedicated to Carlos Gardel, inside a beautifully elegant theatre. It came recommended, and the Tangotix website makes the entire process of buying tickets so easy and such a pleasure. Jimena is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, with very informative recommendations for the shows. We've seen three shows in Buenos Aires and this show would have be one of the best the city has to offer. The setting is gorgeous for a start. It has a three course dinner from a set menu, with delicious steak and divine desserts, and the wine just keeps flowing! The waiters are extremely attentive and quick to respond to your needs. All the dancers are superb, as is the orchestra, and it is wonderful how the entire performance tells a story - the history of the tango - and has couples that dance in a variety of styles and really seem to be having a lot of fun. This is what sets this show apart - it is more like tango theatre, and is very engaging. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening and have no hesitation in recommending both the show and Tangotix.

The tango dancing was wonderful, with dancers ranging from the very young to mature-proving that Tango can be danced for a lifetime. My 5 Star rating is for the dancing and the wonderful musicians. It was a treat to hear such a good Bandoneon player. The place was completely packed the night we attended, and the wait staff was a little harried. Dinner was better than expected and I am glad I attended!

This was a really pleasant surprise! Be prepared to have your picture taken, for purchase later, with two Tango dancers as you come in. The dinner and show are included in the price. You get a three course dinner from a set menu, which includes three entrées, as I recall. Everyone in our party had the steak and it was marvelous. The wine kept coming as well. The Tango show was incredible. The piano player was amazing! The small orchestra is situated above the dance floor, which is on a stage. The dining area is large on the main floor and there is also a balcony eating area which overlooks everything. The music and dancing were great. This was a very enjoyable evening indeed and highly recommended.

I guess we were lucky with the seats that we had for the show -- we had a great view of the stage. The actual meal was better than I had anticipated - not five stars by any means, but much better than most dinner theater food. The food was presented well and the service was very good. The stars of the show were the dancers AND the musicians, especially the cellist. All of the performers looked like they were having so much fun and that definitely carried over to the audience. My husband and I were very pleased with this traditional, well choreographed and energetic show and would recommend it highly.

We went to a tango show at La Esquina Carlos Gardel by booking the tickets through our hotel--we ended up with a booth on the side of the room which was fantastic. Not sure if this would be a certain price point but we would recommend this seating as your facing the stage and its comfortable. A lot of the other tables for 2 people were crammed together and not necessarily facing the stage so one person might need to crane their neck or turn their seat. There are also bigger table options but you might be sitting with other groups. The food was average but I think a lot of these shows don't have amazing food. You eat before the show starts so its all a bit rushed in order to get the actual show to start--not necessarily bad but just the nature of these shows. The dancing and singing in the show itself was incredible--very impressive. When we booked the tickets through our hotel, a van came to pick us up and bring us back afterwards which was quite convenient. This was our only tango experience in Buenos Aires so not much to compare it to however we would say the dancing in the show was spectacular.
