I guess it is clear to any reasonably intelligent person that a tango show in Buenos Aires would be somewhat "touristy", but what we experienced at Esquina Carlos Gardel was truly outrageous. We had been convinced that it was worth paying the extra money for a "VIP seat" upstairs and - given that it was a touristy venue - we were not expecting great things. However, we would at least have expected a dinner which is average for Argentinian standards. Unfortunately, the dinner was the worst food that we throughout our 3-week Argentina trip and the venue charged us as much as we paid for our best dinner experience in Buenos Aires (Osaka Restaurant). The starter (some kind of salmon terrine) was tasteless and the steak was without any exaggeration the worst meat that we had in Argentina. This was topped off by some very average wine.

We would not even have said anything if the show had been somewhat original, but in fact this really was very average too and the dancing did not even last for two hours. We did complain at the management of the venue, but our arguments were ignored and treated arrogantly.

If you are really into tango, then get a ticket without dinner, but do go somewhere else for your steak - ANY parrilla in Buenos Aires will be better, at a fraction of the cost.

You can not go to Tango city and missed the very best tango Show in the world.
I ask the ticket with dinner inclusive and OMG so good… when I finish my tree purse meal with red wine (all you can drink) the show start. You felt in love with characters, the music, the dresses, dancers … and everything around you make you feel like you are time traveling. Is not that cheap (150 use PP) but worth every penny. If i go back to the city I spend one of my night there because even if you are not into dance that much you will after this show!! You will want to run after an instructor and felt as sexy as the dancers… play a violin or an accordion. DONT MIIS OUT OF THIS AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!

Great experience! A must see, if seeing Tango for the first time..There is no embarrassing moments where the dancers take you up on stage..great food and wine. Monies worth. Transport to and from accommodation. Good classical atmosphere with full orchestra and table service. Great!

We wanted to see a folkloric tango show and Carlos Gardel was a sensation for us. Recommended to everyone who loves dance and tango music, the tango dances were beautiful and sexy, the dancers performed in pairs and in groups. Good wine too included in price. There were many Argentines at the show. I 'd highly recommend this show

The show is really good, excellent Tango dancers. You can see many differents dancers in differents kinds of tango during the night. The only thing I think could be better is related with the dinner. Was too fast. They could wait a little more between the plates/deserts etc. Otherwise, the night was very good.
